[QUOTE=Dejablu]I remember back in the early 80's, things got so bad with the company I worked for, we all took a 15% pay cut so they wouldn't have to lay off anyone.  That lasted about 2 years and when things got better,  the company reimbursed us over the next few years for the pay we lost.  Sometimes ya just gotta bite the bullet and hope everything works out.

I hear that a lot for the employers.   What happens to the companies boss and high rankers that own the companies.   They don't cut there pay only the employers.   That True or Not?  If so Censored

I don't know about any other companies, but mine was a small private school and we only had about 20 employees.   I know the owners and they said they were taking a pay cut too, and I believed them.  They were good to work for and I trusted them.   They did us right and you can't say that about a lot of employers.   I worked for them for 22 years and can't say a bad thing about them.  Not too many employers you can say that about.

If all the fat cats of these companies in trouble would cut their salaries in half, it would save the company and the workers that MAKE the company what it is.  GREED has really messed up a lot of lives.AngryCensored  That's just WRONG.Angry  Censored

Joe Six Pack can't by a 20K+ car and his house is not worth what he first bought it for 5 years ago, his credit cards are helping him pay his bills, his employer is cutting back and not offering him overtime that he needs to get by. The big company CEO's are out of touch with the Joe Six Packs out there and as long as our Government lets them suck millions from these companys and lay off Joe Six Pack after they get those giant bonuses our country will not improve.

More than likely the goverment will step in after Gm requests receivership protection, and maybe with any luck at all, the higher management will then have to take a pay cut and get  realistic paycheques and hopefully Joe Six Packs (as stated above) will be able to maintain their jobs.

I don't believe any high ranking management person/s will ever take a pay cut.   They would come up with a ill excuse saying to stay with there huge pay and bonuses.   Angry

We..........all of us will be in serious trouble. I predicted this would happen by the year 2010. I guess my prediction was off a bit. The government can't allow it to happen.Wits%20End

Vette(s): White '79 Corvette. It's a driver.
We have all heard the expression "Too many chiefs and not enough Indians".
From my perspective many companies and agencies have way too many well educated people who don't do much for the company other than collect large salaries. What do they actually do during a days work?
Let them wear their hush puppies and bow ties somewhere else and let them pay for their own finger sandwiches and bloody marys.
The poor guy in the field can't afford a new pair of boots and is eatin' a baloney sandwich for lunch.
OK (Rant'n 'N Ravin' done for now.)

I sure hope the Corvette survives.
