When I was stationed over in okinawa japan I had my 89 convertible and I would get no love from the japanesse guys over there they have there nose's in the air no matter what year and you would think being on that island having one of the 20 or so corvettes you would get a wav |headscratch| But all the americans that were there would see my driving by and would almost cause accidents!
always wave and thumbs up! |thumb|

so it was ok!

In central Ohio there are a few C5 snobs.
Most only have the C5 because it cost so much money to buy.
I have had many C4/C5 stop next to me and ask about my C3.
I always wave and find myself waving when I am not in my C3. I get some funny looks, but some wave back like they know what I mean.
Around here, classics get the wave too!

I've found the same thing - you can almost always get a wave from another C3, fewer from C4's, and barely any from C5's. Like a previous post stated, give 'em time to "grow" into the Corvette world.

Yesterday I was out in mine and driving from NYC to West Chester, PA and back - did not see ONE other Corvette - ANY YEAR! |frown|

Guess most of 'em have all started their long winter naps. So me and 'Black Pearl' owned the highways here this weekend! |biggrin|

Well I DO know how to work on the electronics. I teach auto electronics and mechanics. No one but my wife thinks I'm sexy, no matter how I'm dressed or what I'm driving. My C3 is almost ready for primer, so not sharp at this point. When it's georgous again, I'll still be ugly. So when you see the ugly middle age mechanic/instructor in a varying appearing C3, I will be waving at you!
By the way, the teen age girl with the stupid grin in the passenger seat will be my daughter. I told her when she get to high school and wants to go someplace special with her boyfriend, needs a car, she can take the Celebrity, she not taking the Vette!! LOL (MAYBE she can talk the wife out of the Mini Van. he he)

My wife "drives" a C5. She gets on me for working on my 75 constantly. She says "if you drove a C5, you would have a new one, that you didn't have to work on all the time". My comeback is "If I keep working on mine, then it will "be new" again, plus at one point, a C3 is already worth more or will be worth more than a C5". I consider my 75 an investment. |thumb| By the way, she does believe in "save the wave". |saluteflag|

I thought it was just here in Phoenix that the C4-C5 drivers didn't wave back. I figured they were either stuck up or didn't have a clue what the "wave" was all about. Maybe a combination of both. I always wave and it's usually only the C3's that consistently wave back. |smile|
