Vette(s): Re-acquired 1982 Bright Blue Vette from the guy a sold it to 13 years ago. 1993 40th Anniv. Ruby Convertible- purchased for my wifes 40th birthday-It has Chromed Grand Sport Wheels, Grand Sport Flares and a functional rollbar.
I wave all the time. Once I pulled along side of a young thing in a C5. She had the top off and the hair blowin' in the breeze. I wave. She gives me that "Are you flirting with me" look. I wonder now if she could even spell Corvette. Most Corvette folks around here wave. Mostly I find that female C5 drivers are least likely to wave. Unless there afraid of being stalked or something I just don't understand why they won't just wave back or aknowledge that they saw you wave. |hammer|

When I had my Z06 I always waved, But the moajority of C-5 owners only have the car because its the cool thing to have, they are not corvette enthisuast as most of us are!

And Yes I owned one and I can work on all that high tech electirical junk its not that hard the stupid computer tells you what is wrong with the car!

After having a 89 vert that was flooded in a typhoon Id say im an expert in C-5 electronics and the C-5 is not that much more high tech!

I bought my 79 from a coworker who bought a 2003 Z06. he is the nicest guy in the world and we could talk vettes for hours if we could get away with it. He always waves, but then again he's been into vettes since 1986.
When I first got mine I noticed that other vettes would wave, and I mean an arm out the window wave. i told my wife this and she looked at me like i was nuts until I took her for a cruise and about 5 other vettes all waved. I pledge to always wave.

Hi fellow C-3 wavers. Since I first posted this thread almost 2 mos. ago, its been fun. But I have to tell you that one of the (prick) C-5 owners has since bought a new 2003 and sent it in to have the 1953 kit put on it. My question now is he a prick C-5 owner, C-1 owner or a C-5, C-1 Wanna-be owner. Help me I'm confussed. (I'll bet he still don't wave??!!) Terry

I think I'd just call him a prick and leave it at that. It says it all no matter what he's driving. On that kit, I've seen both in person. I call it a 53C5. |hammer| lol I don't like it, I don't hate it. I just don't know what to say about it. It's kinda just "there" in my opinion. Nothing special, but "different". lol

Vette(s): 1981, 4 speed manual, "competion yellow" exterior; interior being colourcoded yellow & grey; under bonnet being painted, chromed and polished. photos coming of customised sound system.
Hi Everyone,
Over here in Australia, Corvettes aren't very common so it is exciting when you see one coming your way. Because of that I haven't had anyone not wave to me. When I am out in the Vette, everyone looks and lots of people wave and smile when I pass them.( doing the speed limit of course). My car is a yellow 1981 so it certainly stands out on the road.
I will always wave.
George.

Vette(s): 1980 corvette, very modified. Right hand drive done by myself.
No matter where you are in this world, you are bound to get ignored sometime. As long as you wave thats what counts. Anyways I personally think C5's are ugly but hey thats my opinion. |wavey| |toungecool|

Vette(s): 1971 convertible, VIN-matching LS-5 454, automatic, ps, pb, pw, tilt/tele, stereo, luggage rack, soft & hard tops, Porsche Guards Red, Saddle vinyl interior, nice weekend driver and parking-lot show car.
Here in the Dallas / Fort Worth area, we rarely get a wave or even a second look from C4 or C5 drivers. It's as if they don't even acknowledge the existence of "those older Corvettes". On the other hand, C1/C2/C3 drivers almost always wave! So do drivers of other kinds of classic cars, street rods, Harleys, and even SUV's. I guess the REAL car enthusiasts wave, while the "I'm too sexy for myself" crowd in their C4 and C5 'Vettes just cruise along with their noses in the air. Even at the outdoor car shows, a lot of C4 and C5 owners act like their poop don't stink, and they look down their noses at us classic 'Vette owners. Whatever. I know who the fun people are, and that's who I hang with!

So, grab yerself a cold beer and let's talk about classic Corvettes (or classic Mustangs!) . . . . . |cheers|

PS: Hello to Grego and Lyndy (we've met several times at the Christian Classic Cruisers shows). |wavey|
