Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses. 2008 Jetstream Blue Convertible

I really doubt that I would, but apparently, one guy did.  I found this story while surfing earlier

I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Don't know about you, but this guy sounds like an ass! You mean he didn't realize that a manual can sometimes be a pain in the butt ( like heavy traffic ), but the fun of the open road overules it. Just my .02.

His weakness brought it back because his wife/wifey/lover/SO made him return it because they had trouble driving and drinking their hot latte double cream at the same time. That was not a real man that purchased the car.

Corvettes and women are the same...You want to make love to them but they keep breaking down.

What a great marketing tool for GM!  Not only did they sell a lot of cars with it, but the public outcry when ONE person returned his car was an added bonus.  And the buyer admitted he just didn't like shifting.  Can't you just hear the salesman.  "Just buy it and see if you suddenly like shifting.  If not, we will trade it for an auto"  It's a can't lose for the buyer, and an easy sale for Chevrolet.

I wonder what kind of discount they'll offer on that one. Somebody with the money who's looking for one right now will luck out.
