It would be MUCH nicer with a 6 speed...!!!  Big%20smile

I'd be asking some questions about why the engine work was done.

It looks to be very clean but I'm with Norsky about the engine work. I'd maybe see if it could be checked out by a mechanic before you think about buying it. Head Gaskets and a New Radiator, and a rebuilt tranny says it may have been driven pretty hard, just my thoughts.Aaron19762008-10-11 22:05:50

Looks real nice. But the radiator, head gaskets and trans work? Wonder if they lost the radiator and it overheated. That might be a bad thing. Something you want to be sure to look into.Wink

My thoughts exactly.  First thing that came to my mind, why would anyone own a white car in the Northwest.  Maybe you don't drive it a lot in the winter but whites a b*tch to keep clean round here.

Now theres a black C4 round the corner from me that I saw yesterday.  I can look at it and get you some pictures and some details if you'd like.  Although black is the other end of the of spectrum of being a problem to keep clean LOL

Thanks for all the input guys.  I'll try to summarize what I know about the issues you brought up.  This may be kinda long but I do appreciate your input!  (Tux, I'd have to be dead to give up looking!)

1st email from me with his response (HE LIKES TO YELL LOL):

 ****
Hi!

I've seen this car advertised for months.  It looks nice.  Can you please provide the VIN?  Do you have any pictures of the interior.

Thanks!

TANKS FOR EMAIL

YES I'VE HAD IT LISTED ON AND OFF SINCE JUNE AND BEING I'M NOT A DEALER I CANT FINACE ANYONE SO IT MAKES IT HARD TO SELL A CAR IN THIS PRICE PRIVATELY ESPECIALLY NOW

HERE IS THE VIN #1G1YY32P1S5114367

I WILL LOOK AND SEE WHAT ELSE I HAVE FOR PICTURES AND INCLUDE THEM

YES THIS IS A VERY CLEAN CORVETTE I BOUGHT IT A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AGO AND PAID 11950.00 FOR IT AND I FELT I GOT A DECENT DEAL AS THEY WERE IN THE 1250000-145000 RAGE WHEN I SHOPEED AS ANYTHING UNDER THAT WAS TRASHED

THIS WAS WOMAN OWNED AND USED AS A DRIVER AS SHE WAS A SCHOOL TEACHER AT LEWIS AND CLARK COLLEGE

SO CAR IS NOT PREFECT BUT VERY CLEAN AND CLEANER THAN MOST I'VE SEEN FOR SALE

I BOUGHT IT FOR A TOY SO THE FIRST YEAR WE DIDNT DRIVE IT MUCH HERE AND THERE BUT WITH MY WIFE NEEDED A DIFFERENT CAR WE SOLD HER WORN OUT SUV (WHILE IT WAS SELLABLE) AND NOW WE USE THE VETTE AS THE SECOND CAR

I ENDED UP DOING SOME COOLANT REPAIRS WHICH AFTER FIGURING OUT WHAT CAUSED IT I WOULD SAY ANY COVETTE STILL WITH ORANGE GM COOLANT NEEDS THEM DONE AS THE COOLNT STARTED PLUGGING UP COOLANT PASSAGES SO IT WAS ALL FLUSHED AND NEW RADIATOR AND NEW GREEN COOLANT (BEST UP GRADE I DID )

I BOUGHT THE CAR WITH 105000 MILES ON IT AND I THINK IT HAS BARELY OVER 109000 SO WE HAVENT PUT VERY MANY MILES ON IT I ACTUALLY BOUGHT IT TO DRIVE TO RENO LAST SEPT AND THAT WAS THE MAIN REASON

I'M FIRM AT $10,000 CASH IF SOMEONE WANTS IT OTHERWISE WE WILL KEEP AND ENJOY TILL THE ECONOMY TURNS AROUND

I'VE THOUGHT ABOUT TRADING IT IN OR FOR SOMETHING ELSE BUT I DONT LIKE TO NOT WHEEL AND DEAL WITH CASH SO I FIGURED I'LL KEEP IT LISTED OFF AND ON TILL IT SELLS AS MY WIFE LIKES DRIVING IT JUST NOT VERY PRACTICAL FOR US AS WE HAVE TWO KIDS

LET ME KNOW IF YOUR INTERESTED AND WANT TO COME TAKE A LOOK
***********

2nd email from me and his response (STILL YELLING):

Thanks for all the info.  I ran a carfax.  Shows only 2 owners (guess you're the 2nd).  The only negative thing on the Carfax is that it failed 2 emissions inspections back in 2002.  Have you had any problems with it passing OR emissions since?

I've forwarded the info on to my husband.  I don't want to waste your time if I can't convince him to spend the $$$.  We already have a 77 Vette but need another so all 4 of us can go on Vette trips in Vettes!

Thanks again and hopefully I'll be in touch!

Karen
---------

SOUNDS GOOD

I'M SUPOSE TO BE THE THIRD OWNER AS FIRST OWNER HAD IT JUST A FEW MONTHS SO THE PEOPLE I BOUGHT IT FROM HAD IT MOST OF ITS LIFE AND IT WAS WELL MAINTANED AS THE HUSBAND LIKED TO TINKER (THATS WHY I FELL IN LOVE WITH IT)

ON THE DEQ I DIDNT HAVE ANY ISSUES AS I JUST RAN IT THROUGH AS IT EXSPIRED IN SEPT  SO ITS GOT BRAND NEW TAGS ON IT BUT WHEN WE DID THE COOLANT REPAIR WE NOTICED IT HAD NEWER CATS ON IT SO MAYBE THAT WAS THE ISSUE BUT OVERALL IT WENT THROUGH AND RUNS GREAT

LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT MORE INFO AS I HAVE ALOT OF POST OWNERS RECEIPTS AND HISTORY ON WHAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN DONE ALONG WITH WHAT I'VE DONE AS I HAVE A COUPLE  NEW ITEMS STILL IN GM PACKAGES I BOUGHT AND PUT AWAY FOR SPARES ALSO (SEALS ) ALONG WITH THE CAR COVER FOR STORAGE

Thank you

--------------

He said the overdrive went out on the transmission because the lady that owned it before him drove it in overdrive all the time (and drove up a lot of hills to where she worked.) Would that damage overdrive (where's Joel; I know he'll know)?

One more thing I found kinda amusing...The tires even have little Corvette tops on the thing (OK I don't know the correct terms here!) where you put air in the tires.  It was soooo cute!  I figure anyone who goes to the expense to get little Corvette tops for these thingies (help me with my words!) must have cared about the car!

Vette(s): #1 -1969 Corvette Coupe Riverside Gold, black interior,MN,A/C,350/350,PS,PB,window cranks. #2 -2000 C5, black/black, 6 sp, Bose system & lots of buttons.
Looks really clean and cared for from what I saw.  I think your talking about valve stem covers......LOLLOL

IMHO, I would buy a C5 before I would buy a C4 (C5's are easier to get out of).

I do like the looks of the C5 better (exterior) but I was surprised how comfortable this C4 was.  The only problem I had was getting used to how much pressure to put on the accelerator.  Man that thing GOES!  It really wants to go FAST!  I didn't have any issues getting in and out but remember, I'm vertically challenged!  Prices on C5s are still too high for our boat-sapped budget (which, by the way, is STILL NOT DONE! Wits%20End)

Mark, I think White shows dirt much less than black!  At least with white, you don't have to worry about finger prints!  Is that black C4 for sale?
