Well, I saw this Vette on Craigslist and had to call.

98 Vette

Met the seller and took it for a test drive.  Looks really good.  But....there's always a "but"...  Did a check on CarFax.  Has 2 accidents shown.  One in 04/2003 says "Vehicle inspected after an accident or other incident.  Damage to right rear pillar."  What's the right rear pillar?  Then in 12/2005 it says "Vehicle inspected after an accident or other incident" but doesn't say anything else.

What do you guys think?  Is it even worth pursuing...taking it to a mechanic for inspection?

Vette(s): had a really nice one. sold it to a good friend. Purchased 2004 custom coupe in Feb. 2009 did not tell anyone here until August 2009. BAD I KNOW.
personally there are so many vettes out there that have been in zero fender benders that I would turn away and keep looking. that is just me.

It really drove nice but had a really REALLY strong "freshener" smell.  That alone made me suspicious.

Rear pillar is called the "B" pillar...it is the roof bow, that goes up & over the top of the car on a coupe. (The windshield pillar is the "A" pillar.)
I'd run away from this one. If the B pillar was damaged, it's possible the car was a roll-over, or got hit really hard in the side...or a big tree/grand piano fell on it...

I'm with Larry Raccoon on this un...there's just too many C5s out there to "settle" for one that has had any major damage.
