Topic: 2006 C3VR Gathering Location (Round 1)
in Forum: Annual C3VR Member Gathering

C3VR Founder
The first official Annual C3VR Member Gathering location (in 2003) was determined by vote and was decided to be in Hershey, PA. It just so happened that they had a parade that weekend and we were invited to participate, which was a blast. Outside of the parade we still had a blast, eating, drinking and sharing stories.
The second gathering was held at the first ever C3 Extravaganza at the NCM in 2004 as it seemed a logical place for C3VR members to meet. Again, we all had a great time, both at the planned events during C3X and the unplanned events in the evening.
The third gathering was voted during C3X I to be at C3X II in 2005. Once again, we had a great time just as we did in 2004.
For the fourth gathering in 2006, I'd like to open it up (again) to votes from ALL C3VR Members. I would like to do the voting in stages. I'm hoping we can decide on a place by the end of 2005.
For the first round of voting, I'd like you all to pick if you think the gathering should be held at/during an already existing Corvette Event (FunFest, Carlise, C3X, Bloomington, Ecklers, etc), or if it should be it's own gathering at some location that is just a fun place to visit (Atlantic City, Vegas, Orlando, etc).
Once we get the majority vote on this, then we'll vote on at what event or location the gathering should be.
So please place your Vote now and no later than 11/15/05.
PLEASE ONLY VOTE ONCE!!
Feel free to post your thoughts too!

If this gathering takes place from Mid to Western. I'll have to skip the C-3 Extravaganza. I can only do one long trip next year.
The Black Hills, Los Vegas, Oregon, California, Arizona or Florida are nice.

This option opens up a better(possibly) deal for me, as the C3X is too close(date-wise) to the NCRS National Convention, next year, for me to make both of them.

Hey, Mike, so you say that anywhere from Cali to Florida is good for you?!!

I voted for the 'Not during existing...'

Joel, I guess your right. But need to see some good landscape to take some good/awesome pictures with the vette.
Those I picked would be great.
i think vegas or reno or some place where a person would have a chance, small chance, to pay for there trip. another thing to consider, and i don't want to offend anyone, would be some where closer to the west coast as the last three have been closer to the eastern side of the U.S. that way folks on this side of the mississippi would feel like they would have a chance to particapate. maybe plan one year west next year east. just a thought. hell i'll have it a my house!!!!!!!
I wouldn't mind having the next one in the west either. Larry's house is good too. This way I can see my brother in Oregan.

Yeah, let's go west! I've been dying to see the world's largest ball of twine! But seriously, anywhere west of the Mississippi would be great it will just depend on where you all decide to hold it whether I'll be able to make it or not.
Hell, I'm still trying to make the C3X in Kentucky each year and have been unsuccessful so far!

I have a hunch the "not during an event" option is going to win.
Let's not crowd this thread with suggestions of where to hold it. That will be for "Round 2" discussion.
Thanks!
