Topic: 2006 C3VR Gathering Location (Round 1)
in Forum: Annual C3VR Member Gathering
My only concern is that if we hold it somewhere other than C3X, will support for C3X fall off? I hope not, since it's just getting started. I'd hate to see the NCM cancel it for lack of attendence. I'd try to do both, if possible.

Support for C3X doesn't have to stop, and we don't have to stop going, it's just that the annual "official" gathering may not be there.
By the way, an advantage to going somewhere that there is not an event already happening... it will be much easier to find a hotel that we can all stay at together!

I am going to VOTE... ".for a weekend meeting NOT at an event..."
BUT I strongly urge that we at least try to set up REGIONAL yearly weekend meetings in addition to National Meetings...
Heck If I lived in the Rebublic of Kalifornia or Oregon IF I wanted to attend the a meeting in Kentucky I would have to fly in and be carless
NOT much fun without the car...
I LOVED the Hershey weekend... skipped the Meusem because of distance...
Just my opinion..

Not to crowd the thread with suggestions. I have to admit, Hershey was a blast.
And just to have as many C3VR members as possible get together and have a great time is most important. Corvette's, conversation, and beer is where it's at for me.

Personnally, I could have a good time anywhere. I,d find a way to make my own fun and get eveyone else involved with me - it's just the way I am. I would like to see a kind of half way point between east and west coast so that all would be afforded the opportunity to attend. With enough advanced warning and planning, most of us could schedule vacation time then. It would be great to be around vette people for a week Hell I can pitch a tent or sleep under the stars anywhere in the world and would probably be better off than most hotels.

Would be nice if it was closer to the members out west for a change.
Naturally, there is only one choice for the 2006 C3VR Gathering Location anyway when it comes to great weather year-round, awesome scenery coming in from any direction, an endless list of fun things to do and see while there and where PARTY TIME is a standard method of operation 24/7/365!

Let's make it a 4-5 day event so it is worth the ride for those that are a day or two away.
If the events, activities, meetings, cruises, etc. were Monday to Friday, we could travel on the weekends.
This could be the C3VR Heartland of America Festival.
