Alright. This is going to be a pretty darn good gathering guys. Pigeon Forge is not too far away from me. About a couple of hours is all. If we do this early in the year we can catch the Tennessee Smokies AA baseball team in action. They have a great facility and watching a game there is . Also, not too far away is the Tail Of The Dragon and the Cherahola Skyway. The Dragon is a favorite cruise road of motorcycles. Lots of turns, enough so that you can almost pass yourself. The Cherohala Skyway is a great ride for anyone. It is a new road that is wide and has plenty of pull off sections to enjoy the views. There is a point where you are over 1 mile high looking out over the mountains. Very nice. I have made the loop before starting and ending at my house, and it was 200 miles or so. But starting from PF it should be a lot shorter ride and well worth it. There are plenty of attractions in PF plus plenty of great scenery and roads to explore. Great choice.
EDDIE70 -  Maybe you can comment on the earlier post that referenced "Leaf Week".  My wife and I went there during "Leaf Week" about 10 yrs ago and it was a nightmare.  Really.  The main road is a parking lot for days at a time and there are is NO hotel availability.  I thought it was usually in October but it has been so long I cannot remember.  In any case we want nothing to do with it believe me.  September would be great otherwise.

I voted for Sept during Vette fest cause I am a two for one kind of guy.  I have been to Vettefest several times.  It is a mediam sized (2-300 vettes) that is slowly growing and is always a fun day.  Since the show is not nearly as big as Carlysle/Bloomington it seems to me we would not get lost in the crowd.

My 2 cents

Tail Of The Dragon and the Cherahola Skyway sound really cool to do.   I was also thinking of doing a http://www.flyscenic.com/

Helicopter ride to take photos of the surrounding area.

I see two votes behind.  Drum up 3 is good.  I don't know where though.     Group hug??

I hope everyone that's going has or in voted.  It's almost time to find out what month we will have this gathering.

Neil,

"Leaf Week" in the Smokies starts in early-mid October and it is indeed a zoo.

I, like you, have never attended the Vette Fest and think it would be about the perfect timing, with the kiddies all back in school and the WX getting milder, late Sept. is a relatively slow time in the area, but we are in the minority..... ( I grew up in Big L too!)

Okay I just found out that I have the last two weeks in June off from work, so I voted for June, any other time will not work for me.

I'll just going to say I'm tentativly scheduling this trip as of now

All I need to do is get the wife to buy off on this trip. Her brother lives in Memphis, TN so maybe that will help
