I think it should be held east and west of the Mississippi on alternating years.  more air for all the members.

I would like to see it here in Cleveland.  the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame would make a perfect place to meet.  Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky is close or would also be a great place to meet.

ok, Hank51 made me think of another reason for New Orleans...

10) We could hold it east AND west of the Mississippi at the same time!

From the choices I've seen here, my vote would be:

1) New Orleans
2) San Diego
3) Las Vegas

I like the arguments for New Orleans - tourism down, etc. Makes a lot of sense to help out that area. But I also like the Plastic Fantastic idea in San Diego. Would love to blow their minds with a lot of C3s "appearing". Whereever we go, I like the caravan idea. That'd be a blast.

Vette(s): 1979 Red L-48 Corvette with Doeskin interior, 3-speed automatic, 3.55 rear; 1986 L-98 Coupe, 4+3 Manual - Satin Black and Purple (SCCA TT/Hillclimb Car); 1993 White LT-1 Coupe, Black Interior, 6-speed
Lots of great suggestions.  Hey - I even like the Cleveland idea - been there and it is a highly under-rated city on the fun scale.  But, I would vote for New Orleans hands down. It has a little of everything, great hotels, casinos, etc.

C3: 1979 Corvette Coupe, Auto, L-48, Red/Doeskin (my wife's fave);
C4s: 1986 C4 coupe (SCCA road race car), satin black, 4+3, Z51 package, L-98;  & 1993 C4 coupe, white, 6-speed, LT-1.

Gee, So far you guy's have picked some fun places . I'll have to wait until it's closer to me , 175 miles is my limit. Anything further than that, and I'm asking for trouble .

Joel suggested Dallas, well if you want real adventure come to NYC. We can top everything Dallas has to offer  .

Vette(s): My 1974 Vette sold last August 2014. I am still willing to show up to events and local gatherings if anything happening No new vette yet.

I dunno. I like the plastic show. sounds cool. but driving across country...i would fly there if anything or look into the car train.  new orleans has alot of things to do. been there several times in mardi gras and its fun no mattter whether there is a celebration or not.  St. louis sounds interesting but we would ahev to see what there is to do there and if the other c3 sharks and who ever else would actually help out rather than just saying they would. anyhow, before i make up my mind i would like to see what other members think. and i would like to see the options for the poll.

Been to New Orleans two years in a row now (2 weeks before Katrina last time....).  To me, it has now become an annual trip. Loved the city and the people (being french Canadian, I have some heritage there...).

As Davii pointed out, don't believe everything that is shown (or not shown) to you on TV.  The French Quarter was barely impacted (compared to other areas) and they are rolling!

My vote goes to NO so far, because it's a driveable distance from where I am.

One thing about New Orleans : if we were to select this location, it would require a little bit of planning if we were to stay/gather in the French Quarter; not the best place to drive/park.  Not impossible, just need some planning.  Most Hotels have their own secured parking, but the French Quarter is a difficult place to drive, BUT it would turn a LOT of heads! I have my bag of beads ready!

Anywhere in Calif is good. since I'am from Sonoma which is in northern CA. may I suggest Sonoma or Napa area, these towns are centrally located so if you want to do the wine country, or the coast, or San Francisco, the gold country or whatever its an hour or two in any direction, Vegas is about 3-4 hours, like I said anywhere in Calif is good, the land of fruits and nuts.

An event centrally located in the US would be best for all! No matter where you have an event someone will have to drive a long distance and someone will feel left out!

We drove over 500 miles to the meeting this year at the C3X when gas was almost $3.00 a gallon. So driving a long distance does not bother me, but no matter where it is held it will be too far for someone to come!

If you want to make it centrally located St.Louis is a good choice and Branson is a good choice. The main thing as I see it you want a lot of activities to do while there and have great places to drive. That is why we all have our cars, Right?

Having been to St. Loius several times (I bought my Vete in St. Charles, MO which is just outside there) I think Branson would be a better option. Lots of activites and great driving and great scenery and great lakes for fishing (some of the best trout fishing anywhere), swimming, jet ski, and skiing. And we do not have to worry so  much about our cars when we are not in them. I don't know about everyone else I personally would not like to have my Vette vandelized or stolen.

So Branson, MO is my vote!
