As a concerned lifetime member I have to agree with tricer's and dwright's first post about the June dates. Adam, you sent me a private e-mail over 3 weeks ago telling me to pencil in the June 20th date to which I replied with a post. As I told my wife at that time I didn't feel that you would change your mind about the dates. As you "CLEARLY" stated in your #9 explanation you are the event planner and host which leads me to believe that the opinions of 900 other members do not matter and you have made that QUITE clear! As an active member of the club that volunteers at the different events to promote the C3VR Club I am disappointed in the fact that we were not allowed to vote on the dates that you posted. I hope that other members that feel the way we do will express their opinions whether they agree with us or not. This is everyone's club. We will not be attending this event. Thanks for letting us voice our opinion and please think about what we are trying to get across. C3VR forever!!!!!!!!!!!!

Speaking as someone who has been in the sierra nevadas and the rockies in April and May, I would not advise anyone taking a vette here during this time.  the weather can be very touch and go and snow storms are not uncommon.  June is a much more settled month and I believe a better choice that members will be happier with in the long run.  I don't want to get involved in a paper war, just wanted to post my experience for info of those who are not familiar.

There's a nice hotel/casino located about 20 minutes south of Carson City in the smaller town of Minden, NV called the Carson Valley Inn (CVI).  Here's their web site:  www.cvinn.com and a brief description of their place from their site reads:

The CVI now features over 650 slots, 11 table games, a Sports Book, a poker room, four restaurants, three lounges, 230 rooms (including nine spacious suites), nightly entertainment in the cabaret lounge, 6000+ sq. ft. of convention and banquet space, a 59-site RV resort, a wedding chapel, a gift shop, a convenience market, lighted and paved parking for over 600 vehicles.

It takes about a half hour to drive up to South Shore Tahoe from there on the Kingsbury Grade.  It takes about 50 minutes to drive up to Reno from Minden on Hwy 395.  Minden and Gardnerville, it's neighbor town, are located in a beautiful farming valley just east of Lake Tahoe, a very scenic area.

Hey guys. I admire your spunk or speaking your mind. I too would have like a vote, but, if there were and the June dates passed - would it make a difference in the way you feel? I agree with you in parts. I can see what Adam is up to. Trying to once cater to the westies.  If we want this to be a democratic club, then all things should be voted on and passed by the majority. If we voted this year for a place and time, the east would out vote the west. Adam equaled the playing field by his choices. He is giving them their chance and now it's put up or shut up.  . I hope that you all won't let this interfere with your attendenance. I will personnaly miss you both. I don't think I can look at a pig the way I used to - Butch was quite graphic in his account. I am very happy to see people express their opinions. We all will be stronger as a group if we can keep this fire lit and speak freely.   My name is Jim and I approve this message.

Somewhere in all the posts about location is a tidbit that I think has gotten lost.

With the vote on location for the 2006 MG a rotation by region was set.
- 2006 - East
- 2007 - West
- 2008 - Midwest
- 2009 - East
- 2010 - West
- 2011 - Midwest
ect.....

Places within the region and dates will still need to be selected by some means.  2007 the place was decided by a vote and the dates were mostly decided on by average weather conditions and room availability.
