[QUOTE=78SEvette] A lot of great ideas with activities and many things to do. The only thing I prefer is a place to stay that is not the center of attention. Road ralling to an activity is fun and entertaining. Staying out in the boonies is fun and entertaining. We have a chance to just sit and ratchet gaw between activities. We had some great times sitting out in front of the hotel and I think we were entertaining to the people that came and went. Join in or not it was up the the individual. Very relaxing. So if we stay a little way from town - so what. Kinda like sittin around the old camp fire. That's my 1.5 cents-I can't afford 2 cents.
Hey Al.... I got yer low budget less than .02 place to stay so'z ya kin sit around da ol camp fire.... (An we kin join ya) Get that hitch put on yer vette ol buddy.... Tuz...

Just an interesting point I ran across today when I was reading a C3VR e-mail... Not that it makes any difference I just thought it was funny....
Hi Larry.
This is your Event Update for the Mid West region.
If you would like to add an event to the calendar, please go to:

No hard feelings from the guy who started the Indy conversations in the first place either. But saying Indiana is not in the midwest - please - have you ever seen how much corn is in this place???
Somewhere else would be better anyway because I'd get to take a ROAD TRIP!!! Woo Hoo!

It is a little confusing that there is the "Mid West Region" which refers to regional events (check out this list) and in the breakout of the country into thirds for the annual member get-together that there is the label "Middle Region" (which is an altogether different grouping of the states).
Us "blondes" can only handle so much confusion before brain circuits begin to get crispy!

[QUOTE=Adams' Apple]Kansas appears to be pretty much in the middle of the country...fairly equal distance for folks from both coasts. Seems to me that would be the best, in order to have the most people be able to attend. Just an opinion.

I am from the mountains of NC. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why people came to the Dragon until I moved out here. This is all just crazy straight.
I am good with almost anywhere the group wants to go. I just hope its a date that works for us and a place that interesting enough to make my darling want to be there.

A while back Joel asked about member demographics. In looking at the member map from March of this year, PA has the largest group followed by TX, CA, and FL. Then comes NY and IL.
That means that most members live in three of the corners of the country. So KS and MO are pretty much equal distance for all of these areas. Any further N, S, E, or W, and you'd have a large group having to drive a longer distance than anyone else.
I guess it's not that big of a deal since the gathering has been held on the East and West coasts, which has meant long distances for some. It would be nice to have a gathering with a huge turnout though.
