[QUOTE=Tuxblacray] However, some folks may have to submit vacations schedules to their employers.

Just a thought....

I haven't been to OKC since the late 60's. Stationed at Ft Sill. Used to race my Camero at Jimmie Nix's Dragway on weekends and eat at  the Cattleman's in Duncan and bootleleg Lone Star beer from Whitcha Falls to Lawton Ok. Man those were the days. Wouldn't mind going there again.  Lately I find that the trip is better than the destination, so I guess it doesn't much matter where we decide. I will say that I don't much like the idea of Branson-but Hell, Mi has a certain ring to it.

I think that the first and most important thing to decide is WHEN we are going.  That will determine many things:  WHO can go, what the weather will be like, what the crowds will be like (hordes of people, RV's, kids, etc.), what attractions are open or accessible and what the traffic will be like.  Once the date or month is decided, we can then decide which location best fits that time of year.  I would like to see everyone interested vote on the TIME first.  What do you all think? My vote would be  before school is out in May or after it starts again in Sept.  Oh, and I do like the sound of Eureka Springs-Branson area but for reason already stated by others, not at the height of tourist season.    I know the voices aren't real, but they have some pretty cool ideas...

Yep, Eureka Springs-Branson sound good, but so does Oklahoma.............IMHO we should go in MAY because it won't be crowded or too hot!  We can hang together and get to know how weird we all are..............Rolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20Laughing Rolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20Laughing Rolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20Laughing

While I am also in favor of going in May or Sept. because of school kids and weather, we tried that the last few years and had a problem with Adam's schedule.

If Adam is OK with letting us vote on a time first, that would be great.

I think the time and place need to be coordinated.

I also think there are members that don't have a lot of flexibility on their vacation time and we need to get the time nailed done soon.

I am fortunate to be able to go anywhere, whenever.
Looking forward to a thread for voting.

I am glad to see that people are talking about going earlier or later in the year. I think May is a much better time because of the same reasons as the C3VR coming up in 2 weeks is so late in the year and everyone has spent time and money on car shows and other trips. I don't even have to mention what a bad time of year the summer is for traveling with all the families with kids going places. Like Terry from Alaska said-he would like to see several hundred people show up (wouldn't that be something!) and it seems the Oklahoma area is a little more centralized for a lot of people.
Hopefully, Adam can make it in May especially if there would be a big turnout-since we are going to have a meeting "on-line" (?) maybe we could influence Adam with a big turn-out if he would consent to going with the majority of the members. I was taught that the "leader" of any organization needed to be accessible and flexible to the members needs
and/or wants. I agree with Longhorn wholheartedly  that deciding  the time of year is foremost in the scheme of things.   Yours in Vettes, Butch

I'm guessing that the locations on the map are the ones that have been suggested so far. Is that right?

As it says on the left side of the page: "Blue markers indicate suggested locations for 2008 gathering. Purple markers indicate past gathering locations"
