Based on this map made during voting for the 2006 gathering the Middle Region consists of North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Mississippi.
The regional rotation worked out to be:
2006 - East Region (Pigeon Forge, TN)
2007 - West Region (Carson City, NV)
2008 - Middle Region (tbd)
2009 - East Region (tbd)
2010 - West Region (tbd)
2011 - Middle Region (tbd)
etc...
So the recommendations for spots in Indiana will have to wait for the 2009 gathering.

[QUOTE=Dejablu] Same here, Tux, just wanting to make a point. No hard feelings.
I understand Larry. Never any hard feelings don't worry about that. It's sometimes difficult to understand emotions in writing. It takes alot to get me P/O.
Quite frankly I'm glad to see ya speak your piece because Adam wanted suggestions and I can see your feeling better. (WHICH IS ABSOLUTELY GREAT!!!)
Us Larry's gotta stick together....
Thanks Jim for the regional displacement reminder! Now where are we going???
Quite a few of the west coasters at CC said they wanted to come to the next gathering in the midwest and I fear that if its too far east, they may back out. I was just making a point too, and am done until the voting poll.

Think about this guys. Oklahoma and Kansas are basically flat and the roads go N, S, E, W with very little in the way of curves unless you get into the SE part of OK. Southern and S.E. Missouri have more curves as does Arkansas. There is a reason there are several major events in Arkansas, TWISTY, TURNY, ROADS!!!
Branson is overcommercialized IMHO however, Eureka Springs, Hot Springs, Rogers, Ft. Smith, Conway, Little Rock all have places to stay and lots of TWISTY, TURNY, ROADS close by.
Just a little food for thought.

No hard feelings from the guy who started the Indy conversations in the first place either. But saying Indiana is not in the midwest - please - have you ever seen how much corn is in this place???
Somewhere else would be better anyway because I'd get to take a ROAD TRIP!!! Woo Hoo!
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

On my way home from Gathering 2007 I passed through Missouri and picked up some brochures.
Branson has lots of theater entertainment, museums, go-cart racing, sailing, restaurants, motels, theme parks, shopping and other attractions.
Hannibal, Missouri is the boyhood home of Mark Twain. It is on the Mississippi River, with riverboat cruises.
It is centrally located to St. Louis, Kanas City, the Meramec Caverns and Branson for possible day trips.
I know several C3VR members that have visited Missouri and would like to return.
I think a lot of members would attend if it was in this area.
I know I would.

I like Texas too, but I think it got washed away this week.
And ain't that a long ways from Alaska and Maine?
