I ain't sharon NUTTIN!

We would have room for one couple...maybe...if Mama moved the doll collection out of the spare room...(did I say that out loud?!? You be quiet, Micki!)

Dallas/Ft. Worth has a few things to offer...Texas Motor Speedway, Texas Motorplex(Drag Racing), JFK Museum(Dealy Plaza), Speed Zone, Six Flags/Hurricane Harbor, Madame Tousand's(?) Wax Museum, several private(but viewable) car collections, several NEW lakes(), lots of stuff. Drive just a bit south, and there are some really nice roads for cruizin inna Corvette.

We could probably work out a deal for use of the track at TMS for a day...road course and speedway...

Can't remember where I posted my .02, but since you asked again -- several good suggestions offered, and KANSAS & MISSOURI keep coming up.  I suggested Branson, MO because of the proximity to (1) us! Wink (2) entertainment like Silver Dollar City, Branson, Lake of the Ozarks, Eureka Springs, (3) hotels and dining, and (4) CURVY ROADS in that area!!  Not far from KC or St Louis to the North, and Rogers, AR to the south. Centrally located, and now that TX has washed away . . . . Ouch  by the way, we have lots and lots of trees and green stuff here too!  Best time of year is probably early to mid-September.  Catch the leaves changing in Sep and Oct, but Oct can be cool.  That's my vote.  SO MANY PLACES . . . SO LITTLE TIME!
PS  You can't beat the Bar B Q around here, hands down!!!!  But stay away from the road kill stew. Rolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20Laughing
....I know several C3VR members that have visited Missouri and would like to return.
I think a lot of members would attend if it was in this area.
I know I would.
No offense, but you saying you would be willing to drive half the miles to attend a gathering in 2008 then you did for 2007 isn't saying much.  Missouri is practically around the corner from you compared to Carson!! Rolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20Laughing

This will be a great thread to keep an eye on. There are so many great places and so much to do.

If...............  Corvette was still made in St Louis, it would be a hands down location for the meet , just as Bowling Green has been.
Most every Corvette on this site was built in St Louis and one would think as Corvette crazy as we all are that most would want to bring them back to their birthplace for a visit.  As has been stated before there are a lot of things in the area to do and see. A trip through Alton , just north on the river road is an awesome ride. Bald eagles perch on the sides of the road, the rivers converge there and you can take a ferry ride over to an island that has curves that rival any mountain road. You can ferry over to the St Charles area too. Corvettes are not made here anymore but these people are still Corvette crazy here.  Norskys favorite bridge is not too far away actually on the way to the river road. Mid America  is just up the road in Effingham, theres Vettes restaurant in St Charles area.  I could go on and on . I don't know if Adam would consider it but.. If the dates coincided with or near Funfest, talk about a membership drive if we all showed up at Mid America for the end of the Gathering on Friday and Saturday. 15000 + Corvettes and we could easily take home the bragging rights for most club participation. Thats some powerful advertising in its self.. Just my .02  Keep the ideas coming.

I spent about 10 years working the N.W. Arkansas area and it is one of the greatest places for just driving the hills and turns I have been.  I have also spent time in Branson.  It is really a nice place but the traffic rivals that of Houston.   Not worth it to sit in traffic.  Eureka Springs is a great location for a group of anywhere from 10 to 500 cars. Lots of hotels, restauants and sites to see.  Branson is only an hour away for those inclined.  Table Rock Lake is another close destination for boaters. Just my .02.

Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses. 2008 Jetstream Blue Convertible
I recently posted a thread that I wanted to visit the old Vette plant in St. Louis and was told it was torn down and what was left was in a very bad part of town.

I still plan to go by later this summer and I will be happy to let everyone know if that part of the trip is worthwhile/safe/.

I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Maybe Silver69 (Charlie) will chime in, he is more familiar with the St Louis area than I am. He will know the cool places to go and things to do.
