I've heard a lot of good things about Branson MO. .... BTW, dose anyone know how much is left of the factory in St Louis and is it worth seeing ? It would be fun to see the ol'girl's birth place.
I don't think theres anything left worth seeing, this was asked in another post and some people from that area confirmed it.

THANKS MARK ......

Larry st. louis also has a horse track located between collinsville and
the casino queen. If the weather is decent this Saturday I will jump on
the bike and drive over to the old corvette assembly plant. I have
asked everyone I know about what is left and all they can say is
"there aint much left" I will try and get a picture or 2
and post them. Here is a link of what it looked like in 81. http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/gallery/showgallery.php/cat/6049

I had the oppertunity to speak with a couple of ladies this week who would be interested in making C3VR a package deal if Branson is chosen. They work for French Quarter Resort.
They would be willing to give the members inhancement package for shows, activities, and stay during the month of June for the time we would set. She and I talked about a weeks stay for $199.00.
Here is a link to their website....
BRANSON RESORT
I have additional contact information from the 2 ladies I spoke with if there is a desire as we get further along with a gathering decision.

A WEEKS STAY FOR 2 BILLS ? GEEZZZZ , FROM THE PICS IT LOOK LIKE A GOOD DEAL LARRY.
What i'm about to suggest is worth what you're paying for it .
I have lived in the Midwest all my life and like most places in aAmerica it's a great place to visit if you know where to go and what to see.
If it were me, I would suggest that folks from all different directions try to meet into smaller groups....take in some sights and then make a run for the big gathering.
If I were coming from the east through St. Louis I wouldn't miss the "City Museum". This place is a huge junkyard all welded together into a fantastic adventure. The guy that owns this place took an eight story warehouse and built tunnels, bridges, airplanes hanging on the outside of the building that you go through a maze to get up to them and caves, tunnels, and all sorts of stuff in and outside of this huge building. A great experence to be had by all.....and of course there's the "Arch". If you havent seen it,, "pretty neat".
Kansas City has a lot also. I can direct you to some of the best barbecue you'll ever "BURP"......along with Boulevard Brewerys famous wheat beer.
In this midwest town you will also find an attraction like no other in the entire world. The "STEAMBOAT ARABIA". I give this attraction capitol letters because it is an absolute "Knock-down-treasure" of 18th century artifacts. Now I usually don't care to spend my time viewing a bunch of "old crap" but.... this is one big museum that is a knock-out. About 15 years ago a family of entrepreneurs dug down into the Missouri River mud and recovered loot from this big vessel that hit a snag and sunk in about 5 minutes....quickly being covered over with mud and silt. It's now alive and well in this big musuem.
Coming from the North I don't know. If you don't take the Mississippi river road then you can look at a lot of 8 foot corn.
If you're coming from the west don't miss the "Flint Hills of Kansas. Be sure to stay off the Interstate if you want to see the real thing.
Coming from the southeast you,ve got a real treat in store if you plan to stop and take in a half or full day canoe float on one of the spring-fed rivers full of Rainbow and Brown Trout. Southeast MO is some of the finest nature around. Driving through the Mark Twain National Forest is a treat in itself.
Coming from the south and southwest you had better bring your "barf bags" along if you take the route I'll reccommend. Your not used to arial combat you say,,.....well then heed my words,,the roads in northern Arkansas are to be respected.
So there you have it, my little part of the world.
One more thing, Eureka Springs Arkansas and Branson MO should be linked together.....they are an hour apart with twisty turny roads.
