Northwest Corvette Caravan Members,
I know this is a little early but, I was wondering if there is any interest in getting a caravan together and traveling to the C3VR 2008 Gathering, where ever it may be? I would hope that all of the Corvettes from the western states interested in going will respond in time so we could plan, hook up points, over nights stays, all the things we do like in the past. I already have a pre list with about 15 names, I hope all of you are going?
Let me know and I'll add your name and number to the list. Lets see, Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, California, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Canada to include BC, Alberta and anyone else.." Are we there yet" Lets make this the best one yet..

We are in,little concerned about the Rockies in early May.We may have to go the southern route? Lots of planning time.
Your right Todd, the southern route would be the way to go. I just drove from Dallas to WA and except for White Pass I had no problems, it would be easy to bypass any bad areas. It actually snowed on me on White Pass.
Back to the subject, if I do go this year it won't be with the convoy
With everything else I have going on this year I, or Pam and I would fly into the host city.

Glad to see you folks are getting an early start and including all the west coast. It will be fun to watch you put this caravan together.
I wonder if we have any members in Baja CA.

All you have to do is watch the weather and have an alternate route planned. Early last May I helped my buddy Pete drive his "new" '82CE back to the upper midwest from southern California. Our first night was planned to be in Barstow, CA at the junction of I-15 and I-40. A look at the weather channel in the morning confirmed there were no storms coming through the mountains so we headed northeast for Las Vegas/Utah/Denver/Omaha and home. Had there been bad weather in the mountains we would have headed due east across Arizona/New Mexico and out into the plains. As it turned out the weather in the mid and southern plains was worse than in the mountains so we were happy with our decision.
Then last June on our way to the Member Gathering Patty and I got both rained on and snowed on within just a few hours traveling over the Beartooth Pass between Billings, MT and Yellowstone NP. Snow can happen at anytime in the upper elevations. You just have to be aware of it and plan accordingly.
Terry, when you say the southern route, how far south is that? I was planning on heading out through Barstow,CA. and heading due east like Jim (Norsky) had done, but I definitly want to hook up with the group for the trip out and back ..... Are we there yet !

Baja CA? Did we give California back to Mexico while I was a sleep?

Sorry, I couldn't resist.
Terry, it's to early yet for me to make a commitment. If I can make it, can I borrow your 5 speed trans this year
. The project I'm running will be complete by that time but I may have to go into the field with some of our sales teams. I will know for sure about 2 months before our depatrure.

Great Glen, you are on the list anyway, I hope you can work it out..
..Daniel in time we will find a hook up point for you to join us.. Its way to early yet. Things will change as time passes, Members will drop off and members will tie in. I'm looking at several routes now and making mileage comparisons. If this is a early Gathering maybe weather and road conditions will force us to redirect from the fastest or shortest way. Right now I would like all who may go to the C3VR 2008 Gathering is to contact other members or Corvette owners who would possible like to go and encourage. The more time we have the better...Terry
