So, now that CFAC is behind me I can start thinking about the 2009 C3VR Member gathering.
As some of you already know, I'm thinking New England.
I am leaning toward Newport, RI. I don't know what time of year yet, but I'm thinking Summer. Even at the summer peak, their average high doesn't get above the low 80s.
However, I am open to suggestions for other location ideas for the New England area. If you'd like to suggest something, please do and state reason(s) it is a good choice and good time(s) of the year to visit and why.
I'm not saying that I will definitely pick any of suggestions made, but I might if there are good reasons to go elsewhere.
Thanks.

[QUOTE=spielman5] Adam,
Probably cheaper to ship it directly to RI...especially since you have connections.

into the Adirondak Mnts, Raquette Lake, Long Lake, Tupper Lake, Saranac Lake, to Lake Placid. Lots of olympic sights. Tons of places to stay Econo lodge, comfort Inn, Crowne Plaza, Best western. Whiteface Mountain. Ferry to Vermont across Lake Champlain, Down thru Vermont Hildene the home of Abraham Todd Lincoln, there is a mountain you can drive up, real cool can't see around the corners, cool down spots on the way back for overheating breaks. Then before you pass back into NY there is Hemmings news garage great photo op. Then right back onto the thruway.
LOL,..... just a thought.......
I'm all for Newport, RI

About 2.5 hours from where I grew up, and my cousin is going to let me use his 78 Pace Car
Sorry Terry won't be driving cross country with yas

R.I is two day trip from da' frozen nort'. I'm with Alan. Upstate New York could be really awesome. There is also Watkins Glen and the Finger Lakes area. Either way it will be fun! sundew 2008-07-25 17:50:01
There is no substitute for low end torque!
Thats half the fun Mark..
I'll pick up the Finch's and head East, we'll stop and get a drink at Niagara Falls on the way..

I gotta say Lake Placid would be a great place, it has a million things to do, and the roads are just right for our C3s. It's within a days ride for anyone in New England, but it's also a day closer for people coming from the west.
Another area is Western Mass. in the Berkshire Mts./Southern Vt. area.
Newport is kinda pricey, the mansons are cool, but there are no mountains to cruise!

Thanks for starting this now Adam..... This one will take some planning for me. It doesn't look like a "jump in the car see you in a few" drive this time for me. I appreciate the early start!
