If it's in the summer, I'd rather go to Lake Placid (or the Finger Lakes or upstate NY). Since Lake Placid is more of a "winter" place, it will likely be cheaper in teh summer than Newport. I just have visions of a jam packed tourist town like Pigeon Forge if the choice is Newport. But ... wherever it is, we plan on being there if possible.

Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed
Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses.

I seem to recall that when I suggestest Indianapolis last year for the "midwest," I was told it was "east."
Given that, I'll throw the racing capital of the world into the ring.
There are plenty of things to do in and around Indy, and it might be more centralized to get more people to attend.
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!
"However, I am open to suggestions for other location ideas for the New England area. If you'd like to suggest something, please do and state reason(s) it is a good choice and good time(s) of the year to visit and why."
A little more North East than Indy

I'm with you Marshall. Indy is a great place to meet. Lots to do , plus finally not too far from me. I will make every attempt to be there where ever it is. Like others stated, don't matter much where it is, long as y'all are there.
Thanks for starting this now Adam..... This one will take some planning for me. It doesn't look like a "jump in the car see you in a few" drive this time for me. I appreciate the early start!
IF I own a Corvette by then
can I ride your coat tail?

You have to drive out to the 09 gathering!
Your getting really good at this

Oh I did...
(jumping up and down for joy)

You know that is a far drive for me. To Old Forge it's 851 mi – about 14 hours 18 mins. So 2 days there and 2 days back. We will have to see. I have to get a Vette first.
