Mark I'm with you but lets see how this shakes out.
My kids will be starting back to school the first week of Sept so that one will be tough for me.
I voted for, ---- well, New England, of course, I live here.
Any corner of the map is going to be a longer trip for most of the members.
Bowling Green looks kinda close on the map to where the last event was. I would love to make a trip to the Corvette plant someday, but not when 10,000 other people are there too.
Carlisle is an "EVENT" in it self. I go for 2 days (in the gate before 7:00AM) and still don't have time to check out everything I would like too.

I voted for "other" cause I've been to the Museum and Carlisle before and I will probably be at both in 2009.
And it will be extremely difficult to find a motel for either unless you make your reservation now.

It seems to me that Bowling Green would be a BIG problem during the caravan. There will be thousands of cars and many thousands of people in town during that time which would make it very difficult to have a meeting or any activites. One possibility, if Bowling Green is selected would be to have our gathering either immediately before or immediately after the caravan so that those who want to attend the caravan could do so and still make the C3VR gathering.
That said, I thought that the New England/New York area was where Adam wanted to have the event in order to accommodate members from that area. There was a lot of discussion about Lake Placid in New York. Is that area considered New England? If not, is it close enough to still be considered.
In any event, I am planning on attending, if at all possible, where ever the gathering is held.

Just my 2 cents...
I agree with having the event away from other major Corvette events. I believe the original intent and spirit of C3VR Gathering was to have a gathering of C3VR members. I've only been to one (Pigeon Forge) and I must say... My wife and I had one hell of a time there... and there was nothing but C3VR's there..
I also believe that the Gathering is a catalyst to keeping this web-site going... that family reunion, but with "friends"
I think it is time for the New Englanders (NE Quadrant of the good 'ol USA) to have a shot closer to home...
Adam you would surely be missed by me and my wife( and we only met once), but as many members said... we have pulled together for other members, weather financially, or just good old moral support... this would just be another small step for the C3VR family...
Any way we can make it work for you... we are here.. Family comes first

We chose the NE sector.
Being that we've been to BG 3 time, and to Carlisle, it's time for a different place to visit. Money is getting a little tight, so if we are going to splurge for a vacation it's going to be for someplace we haven't been. Sorry to sound selfish.

I voted, but really would like the New England thing. Someplace a lot of folks have not been to.
Travelled for bizness up that way many times, very hard to do a prettier place for a get together, besides, they are able to handle tourist visitors. I like the idea of upstate NY, a really nice place to visit I would think. Kinda different than the usual hangouts. Major events will distract the purpose of our family.
Carlise is very close to me but boring. Wife would laugh trying to get her there.
NCM, I've never been, but would be VERY tough getting the wife to go. Most diehard folks have been there already.
Not posted much lately, sorry for the absence. The car runs pretty good....looking for that new paint job.....new interior....
