Hey gang.
I have been REALLY busy at my new job recently, sometimes working 14 hours a day, and I don't really see it letting up anytime soon.
Therefore, I have not really been able to do any more planning of the 2009 C3VR Member Gathering. And I know many of you are clamoring for details.
I am respectfully asking for you guys to please help us all out and form some sort of team or committee to put this thing together.  ebo has already started looking into it, but I'm not sure how far he's gotten since I haven't really heard from him on it lately.
As for my personal planning purposes and for my ability to attend, it will need to be one of these dates in July. Starting on the 9th, 16th, or 23rd.
I am still hoping to do this in or around the Newport, RI area.  We don't have to have our "host hotel' directly in Newport if it is too pricey.  But the area is really nice and offers lots to see and do.
So, other than asking for my advise or opinion on things, I really don't see having time to do anything with the planning in the near future.  I'm hoping a few of you can step up and help us all out.
Last year, JDGrant did almost all the work in the Hot Springs gathering.  It helped that he lives there, for sure.  So maybe there are some folks in the Newport, RI area that can help.

Thanks!

Vette(s): SOLD - "The Toy" - '70 Convertible
SOLD - "The Beast" - '90 ZR-1 (#682)
SOLD - "Betty" - '28 Ford Model A Tudor
SOLD - "BLKBRRD" - '78 Pontiac Trans Am

Ok gang - over 100 folks voted on the poll for the location and the majority (50) picked the New England area.  Within the states of ME, NH, VT, MA, RI, CT, and NY there are nearly 100 members.

The Annual Members Gathering is YOUR gathering.  To make it the best it can be local input is needed to showcase the best things that your area has to offer.  Step up to the plate and be a part of the planning.

I have been in contact with the local Vette clubs in that area, I will try and sumorize what I have so far for you and get it posted. I have never really been to RI.
I will be giving you second hand advise. I will actually take a run out that way in the near future once we have some more solid ideas (first hand facts)
The Lake Placid deal would have been in my "Back Yard" and easy for me to put somethin together.

We (I) will need help from the few in the club that are from RI........please.....even if it's just some more do's or don'ts and how bout some good road cruzin courses.
Please PM me (anybody) if you want to help.
I will do a weekend drive about to check some things out.
Let me put the list together of things I have found and you'all can throw em around some.

Also remember, once some of the initial legwork is done, other members can pitch in and make calls/send e-mails to set up/co-ordinate various things, such as lunches/dinners, or daily events...you don't all have to live in the immediate area to make calls/e-mail...
For the '07 Gathering, John(jdgrant) did 95% of the heavy lifting, and a couple others pitched in to finalize some of the smaller details....jump in and grab ahold, ya'll!!

My son lives in Pawtucket, RI.
That's near Provenience.
I have been there a few times.
I have been to Newport once.
Let me know how I can help, but if it ends up being on July 12th, I won't be able to attend.
Let's put this trip together.

No, I remember him from Pigon Forge, he had the orange '77 that drove down there with us.
There was 2 couples from R.I. with us in N.H. One had a C4 and the other did not have his Vette with him. Don't remember their names.
