FYI....Here is a reply I recieved from Rich Morton of the High Desert Corvette Club. Pretty nice that they would even consider setting up a seperate agenda for us. I know the Gathering location hasn't been decided yet, and we are not obligated, but it is nice to know the options. Anyone with questions, just post or pm.

Hey That’s Great!!!!
I have forwarded you e-mail to our President and to the Activity Director. Next year on July 16th & 17th we are going to have our “Corvettes on the High Desert” event. This is something we put on ever other year as our Sister Club in Cottage Grove puts one on in the between years. Always a great event and lots to do and this next years event is expected to be better than ever, games, drawings, show & shine, poker run, banquet with prizes and drawings. The only catch here is our committee needs to try and figure out if we can handle an additional group on top of everyone coming from Oregon and Washington. So, if you could find out an approximate number who might be coming out this will help, please get back to me with this information as soon as you can.. I know our group will accommodate your group if they at all possibly can.
I don’t think we will need to but if we need to set up a separate BBQ and tour for your group we have members who said they would be glad to do this including myself.

Bend, Oregon has been declared the winning location for the gathering.

Based on information received from the High Desert Corvette Club they'd be happy to have us in the area during their mid-summer event scheduled for July 16th-17th. Do we accept their invitation or do we pick a different time to visit the area?

Vette(s): 1976 Stingray matching numbers. Stock 350 rebuilt, comp cam, roller rockers, push rods, 2.02 valves, +.30 flat tops, frontend & suspension rebuilt Dec 08. Interior from firewall 90% July. New exhaust, Collector plates, Paint will have to wait...& wait.
I think it would be great to take advantage of the High Desert Corvette Club's offer to join in their event July 16th-17th, when you already have a bunch of corvettes, one thing that is better is more corvettes. I am pleased that the C3VR is participating in the North West as it allows me a chance to join in the gathering and meet some of you there.(Also see your C3s and others) Oregon is a great drive, about 700 miles for me and will be the first drive to the states with my 76, I am already looking forward to it. They look like a very active club with over 50 members with many event dates scheduled, should be fun to join them and you.

Thanks for all your efforts. Eric...

Hey Ya'll to me this is a 'No Brainer', we have HOCC right there in the area ready
, willing
and able
to help us plan our gathering. They have even offered to plan special events for us before their event that W/E. I, for one, know how much work goes into putting on your own clubs annual event. I co-started a Street Rod club here in middle GA. in 1975 and we hosted our own annual event every year from 1978 to 1999 with 60 entries our first year and 510 in 1998. It's a lot of work for most of the club members (there is always those that don't help much
, all organizations have those). I don't think you can ask for more to have another club in the area help us plan our event especially at probably their busiest time of the year. I don't think we could ask for better help
.

I realize that some of our members won't be able to be there that weekend
, I fell into that group this year
, I was out in the Bend, OR. area this summer when our gathering was being held on the East coast, so I'll just plan on going to the next gathering that I can get to. Hopfully that will be the one in Bend, the area is just beautiful, everyone, try hard not to miss this one!!!

Well, that's my ten cent's worth ya'll, hope to see you there
, I've already started planning my route
.

I agree that this looks like a good offer. Lets take it.
I also would like to see us do SOME activities on our own, even if its before of after the main event.
Jim, I could not find a link to vote on. It takes you to the page but just a link back to this one.
Any ideas? I musta missed something...
