Thought I should share an e-mail I received from a member of the High Desert Corvette Club in Bend. It's great to see the support our Corvette brothers & sisters offer. Mike
Wow, Mike, that's pretty cool.
I guess if the vote puts us in their area, we'll have a great head start in the planning!
Mike,
At our last club meeting we talked about hosting the C3 visit here in Central Oregon.. The members were not sure if we were going to ask your C3 club to join our yearly event in Sisters (Hight Desert Corvette Run) or maybe have a separate BBQ and set up a drive to Crater Lake as a site seeing tour. So some of our members are going to meet and go over to see what we might be able to offer.
When does this C3 club need to know by and please let us know what you might have in mind on what we can do for you to encourage the C3 club to come to Central Oregon.. For sure you can tell them the air here in C.O. is by far much easier to breath...
Let us know and of any dead line dates. I will pass this to the members...
Do you have an exact date when they will be arriving to the West Coast?

Looks to me like Bend would be a great choice.
As much as I like the idea of the meeting on the coast, getting around Eastern Oregon with a group of cars would be alot easier than getting around the coast with a group of cars.
And with the help of the Vette club in Bend how could we go wrong?

Shocking,
I was the first to vote in the second round and the results registered 100%
, so I guess it's settled, we'll be heading to the Bend area next year
. I just came thru there in July and it was beautiful, weather was great too. I'm like T-MAN above, I don't think we could miss having a good time with the help of the Vette Club in the area willing to help us put our gathering together

!!! Well, that about my nickels worth
, I'll get out of the way and let ya'll decide now.

Mrs Tux & I want to set aside time next year to attend. Now that 4 choices are up for poll would it make sense to put some information together in a thread concerning them? I searched through the threads and found some sporadic information.
I was thinking
it might be nice to be able to go to 1 spot and read about the choices prior to casting a vote.Tuxblacray 2009-08-16 20:31:51
I was thinking

THATS ACTUALLY A GREAT IDEA TUX, AND IT WILL TAKE A PERSON WITH GREATER SKILLS THAN ME TO PULL IT OFF. LOOKING FORWARD TO MEETING YOU IN 2010

Tux-
Do you mean a separate thread with just links to various info on the locations in question?
I just ran across this site that has info on all areas of Oregon:
Explore Oregon
... Offer up as much information as you can about the location (things to do, places of interest to see, scenic drives in the area, etc.). If possible do some research to see if there are any other activities scheduled for the area so dates can be selected to make lodging easier to obtain. One city/area per post please. ...
Information about things to do and see for each suggested location was requested. Most suggestions though were made without any information about the area.
Another issue will be WHEN to have the gathering. Adam has suggested July or August. I know some folks expressed concern about going to Carson City in June of 2007 because of the summer heat (and it was hot going to and coming from there!). So as information about each suggested location gets researched more and shared I would hope that the calendar will get factored in as well.
