Cost is too much. Too many things higher on the list. 2011 sounds like it will be a good one, I'll be there for that one. You guys enjoy!

I can help also. My wife was in Sisters over the weekend an stopped at the Sisters Inn to check it out. Its the one for $99.00. She said it was a newer motel and was really nice. If we decide to stay there and it turns out to be a dump my wifes name is Barbara. lol Let me know how I can help.

It wouldn't be a problem for me, and it sounds like there will be lots of help.  I would need to know what the master plan is.  To get the best prices for hotels and dinner, I need a head count.  I can get several quotes in Redmond, Bend or Sisters.  When C3 members passed through  on the way to Carson City, they stayed at Eagle Crest Resort.  Eagle Crest is about 7 miles west of Redmond and about 15 miles  east of Sisters.  For the ones that stayed at Eagle Crest, how was it?  comfort? value?  Same with dinner, once I get a head count, I can negotiate  prices.

As far as activities, I don't believe it has really been discussed in detail.  A drive to: Crater Lake?, McKenzie Pass?  Cascades Highway?  All great drives.  Do we plan  to participate with the other clubs in the area?  Ya'll might think about going to   www.visitbend.com  and check out the area & what is scheduled during the gathering. I have already spoke with the business manager at Visit Bend, and she has already offered to help.

Also, please let me know of any special accommodations.
Give me some feedback & I'll jump on it!!

Mike,
I have helped with some of the Gatherings over the years, so here are some suggestions.

Locate 3 or 4 motels/hotels in the area and ask for their best group rate for 50 rooms. Compare that price to their on-line price for the same dates. See which ones have the best VALUE.

Amenities that I would like to see is a swimming pool, free breakfast and free meeting room.

Don't worry about a head count yet. They should let you block the rooms at the special rate and then release them one month before the date back to the regular rate.

Once we have a hotel and dates selected, we can have a sign-up post.
Then you can start looking at restaurants, things to do and places to go.

I plan on spending a week in Oregon, then drive down the coast to visit my sister in CA.

I also plan to drive some of US20, because it goes near my town in NY.

I'm getting excited already!
