I have used that hotel a couple of times in the past. It is relatively new maybe 6 years old. It is on the north end of town so easy shot to Sisters. I personally like staying at Holiday Inn Express, they are reasonably priced and clean. Just my 2 cents worth which isn't much I knowWink

Vette(s): had a really nice one. sold it to a good friend. Purchased 2004 custom coupe in Feb. 2009 did not tell anyone here until August 2009. BAD I KNOW.
I think for the sake of simplicity that we let mike work on the rooms that why 3 or 4 of us are not trying to do the same thing, I personally booked a room at the shilo, talked with Carla there and she was awesome, she does not even have a contract signed yet and yet she took all my info and will email me conformation when she gets everything dotted and crossed, I emailed Adam and thought that this would make a great host hotel for us, and forwarded him Carla's info.

I think the 99 dollar rate is good, and i also think that if we can decide on a hotel then we can start to plan events and things of that nature.
Just my 02 cents worth.
Larry

OK Larry and Mike, the Shilo looks good. Good web site info. If this the hotel that all of the group will stay, would we need a meeting room to coordinate daily trips and such?

Just for the sake of clarification; in the past Adam or Jim would start a thread with say 2 designated hotels listed and all attending would sign up and be posted as such in hopes of a central meeting place and protected parking. We could end up all over the map otherwise. Before we all make reservations at different hotels, I would like to ask the question, will this gathering be organized and structured by forum heads, or will we be left to arrange all the details on our own ?

if i may we are trying to put together a respectable array of events, outings, drives, etc for all to choose from.  There are about 4 of us that live in the area, so to speak, with mike (82MIKE) taking on alot of the leg and phone work since he lives right there.  I agree with the 2 choices for the group as a whole, with 1 been the "HOST MEETING<,GATHERING,HEADQUARTERS.  I believe that is some what of how it looked in carson city, which is the only one i have attended, so i am a virgin at all this..  I thought it was important to choose a place to stay and then build the events around that.
We are not going to please everyone, hell, I usually piss everyone off, but I am still willing to go forward.  I would like to see a combination of drives, out door events, some fun wacky things to do, a serious meeting/ business time, a few different evening activities for people to choose from.  as well as seeing what the corvette club has planed as events to fit into our likeing.  before anything is finalized i think, not sure, but we send it to adam, norsky, for them to fine tune, cut, add, send back for more, what ever. and then i suppose it will be posted for the group to look at, ad imput, vote, whatever it is that we all do.

Larry, you are going to have to do better than that if your going to piss everyone off.
That was well said and constructive.

I do have some concerns when you mention "wacky things to do".

Mike & Larry, you guy's are doing a great job! I just got back from Salem, Ore. seeing daughter. We made a trip to Sisters and Bend. the motels in Sisters, told us that the Corvette clubs had taken most of the rooms. The Riverhouse looked nice and clean and it is also on the north end of Bend with easy access to Sisters as well is Holiday Inn. Nice drive, with good roads. What ever you choose will be great and we are trying hard to be there.     Thanks, Dick (vettecountry)

Vette(s): 1976 Stingray matching numbers. Stock 350 rebuilt, comp cam, roller rockers, push rods, 2.02 valves, +.30 flat tops, frontend & suspension rebuilt Dec 08. Interior from firewall 90% July. New exhaust, Collector plates, Paint will have to wait...& wait.
Thanks to all that are involved with getting rates and "things to do list". Shilo sounds good, I booked a room as well (can always move if that is the call) but it is one of those things that needs to get done early. As Larry and Mike stated, they have no contract yet but they booked my room with the $99. rate, no problem, hope that was ok. With the Shilo and the Riverhouse being your top couple picks and next door to each other it seems a good choice in case the one chosen runs out of rooms, sounds like it gets busy there around that time. Still mapping my way down there and enjoying evey minute of it. Winter is coming but not yet.
Put the new Corvette Specialties 2 1/2" exhaust on in less than 2 hours including taking the old exhaust off, excellent fit and sound.

Thanks,
Eric...
