Dave, if your sis lives in Sonora, then you've got a pretty good idea where the Mrs. and me hang out. We're 45 min. down the hill in Valley Springs. If you happen to come up with a few extra hours to drive down and have lunch (or dinner) we'd love to take you to our favorite local eating place (Chinese buffet, some of the best), otherwise, we'll see you in Oregon.

Hello Everyone Going to the 2010 Gathering in Bend OR.
I received an email about the Corvette Show in Sisters Oregon on Saturday July 17th.
If you want to go to the show as well as the Friday July 16th Valve Cover Races, just go to their web site and down load the registration form and send it in to High Desert Corvette Club.

Our Club has just finalized our 2010 Corvettes on the High Desert (COHD) Registration Form.  Attached is the form and it is also posted on our web site (highdesertcorvettes.com) - click on COHD.
 
We are extremely excited about our Event since it will be held in Sisters and we have many new activities planned. Due to space limitations, registration is limited to the first 100 cars (which includes our club cars), so have your members register early.
 
We look forward to seeing old friends and acquaintances.

   I'm new to this site, so I may be asking a question that's answer is a known fact here.  Are the annual get-togethers always on the wast coast?  In reading the replies to this topic, I see that the west coast residents are looking foreward to this event, which is completely understandable.  Has this event ever been in a central U.S. location?  My experience w/ afew car (Hot Rod, 'Vette, Olds, '50s Rods, etc.)sites has been that the club gatherings are in a central location as to the site members.  Are the annual gatherings in a different part of the country each year?  Thanks in advance.  Just considering the extent of my membership/participation, as I join clubs to do w/ my vehicles to be an active member and participate in the club's activities.

Hi Jim!

Perfectly understandable question... we do rotate the gathering location every year.  

Take a look at this map to see where it's been and where it will be in 2010 and 2011.  You'll see the country divided into 3 sections.  Each year is another section.  in 2012 we'll be back to the East.  Having decided where yet.

This year’s COHD Event promises to be an exciting time with activities conducted in picturesque Sisters. Don’t forget to bring your cameras & valve cover racers.  Plan on supporting our charity, Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch, where abused children and neglected horses come together to heal. Purchase raffle tickets early (two for price of one) on the attached registration form.  Registration is limited to the first 100 cars, so register early.

 

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE ACTIVITIES PLANNED FOR THE EVENT INCLUDE:

Friday, July 16

3:00-6:00              Registration at the host hotel, Ponderosa Best Western.  Enjoy                         beer/wine tasting & finger food on the lawn by the pool, while browsing through creations by International Artist, Jennifer Lake.

7:00-9:00              Valve Cover Races w/snacks in the Conference Room at the

                             Ponderosa Best Western (preliminary practice begins at 6:00pm).

 

Saturday, July 17

(Lunch & Banquet included in Registration Fee)

9:00-2:00              Registration continues & Show-n-Shine on the grass at the Sister’s

                             Elementary School (only a few blocks to downtown Sisters area). 

11:00                    Show-n-Shine judging begins (separate judging for Host Club).

11:00-2:00            Poker Walk through downtown Sisters.

11:30-12:30                    Lunch (included in your registration fee).

2:30-3:30              Optional Guided Cruise through gorgeous Sisters back country or just downtime if you prefer.

5:00-6:00              No Host Bar at beautiful Aspen Lakes Golf Club (Brand 33 Restaurant).

6:00-8:00              Banquet at Brand 33 w/Awards Ceremony and Raffle Prize Drawings.
