[QUOTE=cilrah]I see some events are limited numbers, but is there a time limit on registering? I don't want to register until I know if my Vette will be running or not in time. And what if I register and then can't make it, is there a refund policy? Thanks Adam

From the folks at Mid America Motorworks:
"we are going to treat the registration like Funfest. Meaning that it will be non-refundable since the $30 covers food and other activities that are not limited. So, even if this gentlemen wanted to come without his Vette to participate in everything but the autocross, he could. That would then just open a spot on the autocross at event time."

Terry - if we didn;t need helmets for the go karts ... we sure don;t need them for the auto cross !!!!
now - how about an alaskan snowball ... put one of those in the corner of the cooler !!! keep the beverages cold !
Anyone planning to post this event on the corvette forum events tab ? It will attract non C3VR members since this is intended to be beyond our group.

It has been told to me that my remark was out of line to you!! I always try to help others but sometimes I can be read as being a little over the top. I hope to see you at Effingham and I will tone down my responces. I like to joke around a lot!!
Dan I apologise to you if I have hurt your feelings!

Stan,
This is tricky. Tone and inflection is almost impossible to communicate via written word. Smilies help, but about the best thing you can do is say "(Just messing with ya!)" or something that makes it pretty obvious you're just playing around.
Folks here are very friendly and like to joke around A LOT! Once you get to know the "regulars" or "long-timers" you'll find what I'm saying is true. It is very rare that anyone is intentionally being rude or mean.
Don't let Dan sour you on C3VR or the folks here. They are quite a fun bunch. If you make it to the gathering, you'll find out first hand. Oh, and the other thing about the gathering.... newcomers to C3VR and/or Gatherings (I'm told) never feel left out or mistreated. They leave the gathering feeling like they've known everyone forever. So come and join us!

Helmets are required for Auto-Cross. They will have some available if you do not have your own.

Vette(s): 1972 conv, 4-speed, 350, 200hp, numbers match, rally wheels, war bonnett yellow w/white top. good condition, nice driver.
As expected, the shirt will be "free" advertisement. I'm good with that. The price does not bother me, figured to pay something for the program. As EBO said the PERKS will more than not pay for the fee involved. Gonna be a ball, BUT I aint holdin the clutch IN till time to go.
Thank you on the helmet, now Elba can bring her dancing shoes!!

Stan, let me confirm what the boss said, Dan is a cool dude and for sure we will let you drag him behind your car for one lap and one lap only at the autocross. It's just that we are all very very excited about this event and we have been waiting like forever for some kind of schedule to come out.
It was not that long ago that I was a "Newbe" and pretty nervous and shy
about meeting all these Vette dudes & dudettes, but for sure it will be a memory you'll cherish for ever. I'll be meeting people for the first time that I already consider good freinds......well except Dan (his elevator lost the top floor a long long long time ago).

So by all means if you can make this gathering do it I'll save you a seat in the safe section
