Hey Dan-o,
Not sure yet when I'll be heading for Effingham. Still waiting for the vacation approval to come back. Also not sure of which route I'll take. Google maps shows the quickest way is south and east through Iowa to the Quad Cities and then angling across Illinois to Effingham. If my buddy Pete ends up going I'll probably head east into Wisconsin and hook up with him coming down I-94/I-90/I-39 and on into Illinois through Rockford/Bloomington to Effingham.
Also not sure if I'll be driving or trailering "The Toy". Probably won't make that call until just before heading out.

ok Jim. Let me know when you plan to get into the Rockford area. I can meet with you at the toll booth. You still got my cell phone number?? I got yours.

[quote=my7T1]Hey Fred. I'm really sad we won't get to meet you at the gathering. I
want you to know how proud and appreciative I am to you for the
sacrifices you go through to help defend our freedom in this great
country. We will be thinking of you.

Thanks for the good wishes, but I'm no longer active duty ( retired ). I work for the Army as an instructor. This summer is getting really crazy and it doesnt look like it will slow down anytime soon. That's a good thing for job security I guess.Adams' Apple 2011-03-02 11:25:03

Ooops! Just realized this should have been in the 'chatter' thread...my bad... I guess someone will move this to it's proper place?.......

I know the voices aren't real, but they have some pretty cool ideas...

This will be my 1st time to one of these things. We are scheduled for the autocross and the moonshine cruize. The wife wanted me to ask if there will be any need for her to bring dress-up clothes?
Hey, I had to ask.

Chuck: Just tell the wife that she has to be content with wearing "Jeans" After all, thats how you tell male Chromosones from Female Chromosones, you "take down their "Genes".
Dan
I think that I just hurt myself laughing!!!!!

Chuck if you look at some pictures of the past gatherings you will quickly notice that these gatherings are clothing optional. Sometimes not pretty but as Mark says we are a pretty layed back group.

Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses.

"Clothing Optional?" ebo, who you been hanging out with? (no pun intended) And where are these Pix (not that I want to see!)? Doesn't sound like they'd even make it to the "Anything Goes" category!

Clothing Required for this bunch! It just doens't have to be fancy...

In my younger days, I did visit a place and ended up on a beach that was "toptional", but I didn't see any Vettes in the sand
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!
