Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses. 2008 Jetstream Blue Convertible
If you and your co-pilot would like to have some fun along your route, you could try to snap pictures (or at least encounter) as many of these roadside sights as you can.

No prizes for anyone who gets them all (although it might be fun to compare notes), just a game you can play.  No particular order or weight to the items, just a list I've put together

  1. A lighthouse
  2. A highway mile marker showing mile 500 or greater
  3. A recognizable National Monument/Landmark (McDonalds, etc doesn’t count!)
  4. An operating Drive –In Movie theatre
  5. An operating oil rig
  6. Highest priced gas you see (regular unleaded)
  7. Lowest priced gas you see (regular unleaded)
  8. A historical marker sign
  9. A Muffler Man
  10. Other Giant Roadside Attraction (giant apple, giant fish, etc)
  11. A Route 66 sign
  12. A Wall Drug sign
  13. A Barn Advertising sign (Mammoth Cave, etc)
  14. A Pet Cemetery
  15. A Smiley Face Water Tower
  16. An authentic roadside diner
  17. Road sign noting the name of a town that’s well known, but not in the state you’re in – Example – Philadelphia, IN
  18. Your odometer turning over a 10K mile mark (ie, 30,000, 40,000, etc)
  19. A Mustang pulled over for speeding
  20. A license plate farther away from South Carolina than anyone else finds
  21. A wave from a C1
  22. A wave from a C2
  23. A wave from a C3 (I hope we can all get this one!)
  24. A wave from a C4
  25. A wave from a C5
  26. A wave from a C6

Enjoy the trip.  See everyone soon!!

I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Marshall,
Why would you take a picture of REGULAR unleaded gas.  Not in my car heheheClown

Warning: The surgeon general has declared that it is NOT unhealthy to smoke your competition AND I just discovered that my corvette is a hybred.  It burns gas and rubber!

So far we've got...

A recognizable National Monument/Landmark (McDonalds, etc doesn’t count!) - Does the Tail at Tail of the Dragon count?

Lowest priced gas you see (regular unleaded) $3.22 in South Carolina

Other Giant Roadside Attraction (giant apple, giant fish, etc) - a giant chicken, but no picture

A Barn Advertising sign (Mammoth Cave, etc) - Rock City

Road sign noting the name of a town that’s well known, but not in the state you’re in – Example – Philadelphia, IN - Paris, TN

A license plate farther away from South Carolina than anyone else finds - only New Mexico so far

A wave from a C4 - check

A wave from a C5 - check

A wave from a C6 - confident I'll get it today :)

Although many of you are already on the road, as I mentioned last night, the scavenger hunt continues until you safely reach home.  So far, Candi, ebo and I have the following:

A lighthouse

Lowest priced gas you see (regular unleaded) - picture of $3.22, saw $3.21

A historical marker sign

A Barn Advertising sign (Mammoth Cave, etc)

Road sign noting the name of a town that’s well known, but not in the state you’re in – Example – Philadelphia, IN

A license plate farther away from South Carolina than anyone else finds  - we got New Mexico, but Dave saw Alaska (too bad not Terry and Elba)!

A wave from a C1 - nope, haven't even SEEN one!

A wave from a C2 - well, technically maybe not

A wave from a C3

A wave from a C4

A wave from a C5

A wave from a C6
