Vette(s): Used to own a 1979 Corvette now owned by JB79
According to the Survey, we are going to be in Washington State for 2016! From the discussion in that thread, sounds like Tacoma is the better place to call home, and we'll visit Seattle on one of the days during the event.
Next up: We need two or three volunteers who live in the area that knows enough about the area to put together a great 3-day agenda. Who's up for the task?
After that: Those that volunteer will need to suggest the best time to visit.
Thanks!

Just a simple request:
Try not to have it June 23-25 (Bloomington Gold), July 28-31 (EboFest), August 25-28 (Vettes at Carlisle) or September 15-18 (MidAmerica FunFest).
Any other time is OK for me.

I can help with some of the planning if it's needed but I'd prefer to not be the "head dude in charge"

As a date, I'll throw out one of the two middle weekends in August. How many days do these events go for, Fri-Sun? or more?
I recommend one of these two drives to Mt. Rainier National Park for one of the days.
or
Note the elevations - hope the carb'd cars (i.e. mine) can handle it!

For the Buffalo Gathering we did a early arrival dinner on Wednesday. Some people like to arrive early and get a fresh start in the morning. Especially the folks that will be traveling for long distances. Then we scheduled events for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Sunday was the farewell breakfast.

First nail down a good hotel like Dave C. did. Someplace with a good secure parking lot and clean rooms.
Then pick some good local restaurants that the locals favor. (No chain restaurants like Applebee's, TGIF'S, etc.) Work with the restaurant owners on setting up menus and times. Be prepared to front lots of money for the deposit.
Then pick high points of the area to "showcase." i.e. tour of Mt. Rainer, Boeing, etc.
The trick is juggling the times between events and stopping to eat.
It is a very daunting task for those who don't coordinate events on a frequent basis. So start now and get things nailed down as soon as you can. This will allow for minor changes in the venue if needed.
So I thank all of you (early) who will be planning this event. I will be there!

Update: (((( Late August is bad for Michele. Early August on back to the spring would be good. She is an accountant at the VA and they start closing out things for the end of the fiscal year. Her boss is a **** ))))

I'm with Sarge on a big thank you!
ebo
I contacted my family that works at Boeing, here is the tour link www.futureofflight.org/boeing-tour-seattle
Niece gets discount tickets!

Looks good -- No one complained about performance while out here in Colorado a couple of years ago for that gathering. They seemed to be concerned about falling off either of the edges.
Listen to Sarge -- he speaks with much wisdom -- and don't worry -- as long as there is food, fuel, and a place to talk this group enjoys.
Plan away
finally arrived and rarin' to ride

So let me be the first person to nominate daveo76 as the "head dude in charge", LOL !!. Just kidding, Stella and I are looking forward to working with you and anybody else from the club on this event. Hopefully we can get one or two more to step up.
Thanks for the input Sarge, you have already answered about five of my first questions. I'm sure you, your wife and even Dave will be of great help on this one !! Hey Dave, are you in AZ yet ??
Regarding the date, the best weather in the neck of the woods is July 5th through the end of Sept. June can be a bit iffy and I'm sure folks want to be back by Sept for kids in school and other stuff. Taking a quick look at the calendar last night, I thought we'd throw out July 13th through the 17th and see how it sticks to the wall ???
