Topic: 2024 Gathering update

It seems there is not enough interest in a 2024 Gathering to move forward with planning.
I'm thrilled that we were able to have 19 successful Gatherings in the past!
Thanks to those of you that attended past events and especially those of you that planned and ran them!

So...As of now, the 20th anniversary of gatherings has come to an end? No more gatherings, or can/will we try again in 25 for a central gathering? Kudos to all who attended over the years, and all who made it possible to enjoy our fun times. Till we meet again on life's highway, Be Safe!
Sad to see the Gatherings end. I thoroughly enjoyed the ones was I was able to attend. Meeting friends in person who were originally met on-line was always special.
I was looking forward to another West region event which would have been very doable for me from Colorado. But in the past month we have made the decision to move to northeast Vermont to be closer to our granddaughter, daughter and son-in-law so getting west of the Mississippi River would be a bit more of a challenge. It was easier to go east or west to attend Gatherings when we lived in Minnesota. Special times...!!!
There will be a “Mini Gathering” throughout February with the arrival of Mark & Jan driving their C7 cross country….. I’ll be holding a cleaning seminar for them. Cinor will already be here in her rolling home & garage. We’ll need some BBQ to lure Dave from his mountain top perch.
Others in the area PM me with your interest in our movements.

🙁 Seems like it's a west region lack of participation problem. Maybe consider dividing country into half instead of thirds ? or just eliminate western region? Certainly no lack of participation in the east or central.

I'm not opposed to doing them, but there needs to be enough interest to make it worth it. The Texas one was really lightly attended, and while the 2023 one was well attended, it was still not the highest we've had. I think that, as is indicated by the lack of posts in our forums, interest in C3VR has shifted away to other platforms, namely facebook. So, newer members don't get that sense of community that the original members had/have. And most of the Gatherings are mostly the same folks each year. Not that there is anything wrong with that, except that we need new folks to join the fun to keep them going. We did have a few newbies in 2023 which was great! But the seeming lack of interest in a Western Region Gathering is what caused me to make this decision for 2024.
I'm not saying future Gatherings are entirely off the table, but maybe take a break for a year or two then do another in The mid to Eastern Region at that point.

The dispute at the border could have a impact on the desire to travel to that area of our country!
I agree with you Jim, hopefully we will have more in the future. Me & my cars are getting older and long trips are getting harder. Maybe we can do more local trips for small groups that are near one another in the future. I hope this never goes away altogether. Have a great new year everyone!

When the weather gets so we can get cars out, and we're not so busy, it'll happen.

Wow. Just seeing this. Sad to hear, but can’t argue with the numbers
I’ll say that the NCM Caravan will take place over Labor Day weekend in 2024 and I know I plan to attend. Maybe we could try to plan for a C3VR dinner during that and see if the Gathering could be resurrected for 2025?
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!
