Wednesday Night 6/20/07:
06:30pm: Dinner with Dave: dwright is arranging for dinner for the folks that will be in town at dinner time. Glen Eagles Restaurant, 3700 N Carson St., Carson City, Nevada, 775-884-4414. Located north of the Days Inn and South of the Holiday Inn Express.

Thursday 6/21/07:
Local sightseeing/tours (so as to not spend a ton of time in our cars after driving for days)

09:00am: Meet at Holiday Inn (4055 N. Carson St near Broadleaf Ln)
09:00am: Distribute Event T-Shirts
09:30am: Group Scenic Cruise to Virginia City (N395 to S341)
10:15am: Arrive Virginia City – Use Parking Lots on D Street
10:15am: Browse Virginia City - Make own groups or individually
12:00pm: Lunch in Virginia City - individually or in small groups. No official meeting place – See map for restaurants
01:30pm: Meet at lot on corner of D Street & Mill Street
01:30pm: Cruise to Genoa (S341 to 50W to 395S to 206S)
02:15pm: Arrive Genoa – Parking on Rt206 along both roads where Rt206/Main St. takes a left and becomes Rt206/Genoa Ln., near Mormon Station State Park
02:15pm: Browse Genoa – Make own groups or individually
04:30pm: Meet along Rt206/Genoa Ln in front of Mormon Station State Park
04:30pm: Cruise back to lodging in Carson City to get ready for dinner
06:00pm: Buffet Dinner at "Rum Jungle Buffet" inside Fandango Casino - $13.49/person. (3800 S. Carson St)
OTHER INTEREST: 5:30 to 8:30pm: Local Cruise Night at Carson City Harley-Davidson: 2749 North Carson St. Can skip dinner to do this or go after dinner.
 

Friday 6/22/07:
08:00am: Driving Cruise around Lake Tahoe - Includes Lunch (MUST SIGN UP FOR THIS LUNCH!!), Sightseeing, Photo ops

08:00 am: Drivers Meeting @ Holiday Inn (Hand out directions, etc.)
08:30 am: Depart
09:15 am: Arrive at south shore casinos (gamble/shop)
11:00 am: Depart casinos
11:15 am: Arrive Fresh Ketch for Lunch - 2435 Venice Dr E, South Lake Tahoe, CA (530) 541-5683
01:00 pm: Depart Fresh Ketch
01:15 pm: Arrive Emerald Bay (Two places to stop for sightseeing and photos)
01:45 pm: Depart Emerald Bay
02:15 pm: Arrive Tahoe City (stop for a break and cold drink)
02:45 pm: Depart Tahoe City
03:30 pm: Arrive at viewpoint in Lake Tahoe State Park (sightseeing/photos also has trails to the lake)
04:00 pm: Depart State Park
04:30 pm: Return to Carson
06:00pm: "Alone Time" -- No official plans. This gives everyone a chance to spend the evening with your better half, guest or small groups as you see fit.


Saturday 6/23/07:

9:00am: Meet at Holiday Inn

9:15am: Trip to The National Automobile Museum ($7.00-$9.00 admission fee) 10 S Lake St, Reno, NV - (775) 333-9300
10:00am: Arrive National Automobile Museum
12:00pm: LUNCH: Walk to Bertha Miranda's Mexican Restaurant. (SIGN UP HERE!)
1:30pm: Trip to Nevada State Railroad Museum ($3.00-$5.00 admission) 2180 S Carson St, Carson City, NV - (775) 687-6953 (Depart from Auto Museum)
2:30pm: Arrive Nevada State Railroad Museum
4:30pm: Depart Museum. Head back to hotels to rest up for finale dinner.
6:15pm: Meet Holiday Inn for cruise to finale dinner.
6:30pm: Driving Tour of Old Washoe Valley, en route to Finale Dinner
7:00pm: Finale Dinner - Outdoor BBQ @ Washoe Flats Steakhouse - 555 Us Highway 395, Reno, NV (775) 849-1500 ($18/person)  (MUST SIGN UP FOR THIS DINNER!!)

  • Thanks to Rich Gilbert, President of the Lake Tahoe Corvette Club and Carson City resident, he suggested the Washoe Flats Steakhouse. Prior to dinner, Rich and his wife will lead us on a 17-mile, 30 minute scenic tour through old Washoe Valley to view some of the most expensive homes and horse ranches in Nevada.
  • Thanks to Karmel77 (Mel & his wife) who is chipping in toward the cost of our meal, cost will only be $18 per person.  THANKS MEL!
  • Cash Bar will be on site, too! kkfinch (Karen) has offered to cover much (if not all of the bar tab), so drinks will be on Karen until she runs out of cash! THANKS KAREN!
  • Arrival at 7pm for dinner start time of 7:30pm. Our official end time is 10:30pm.
  • Dinner is all you can eat from this spread:
    • Tossed Green Salad with house dressing
    • House made Ranch Style Beans
    • Grilled Hamburgers and Hotdogs with appropriate condiments
    • BBQ Chicken
    • slaw and/or potato or macaroni salad
    • Fresh baked Cookies
    • Coffee and Tea
  • BBQ Steaks will be available for an additional $6 per steak.
  • Prices above do not include tax or tip, so Adam/C3VR will cover those costs.

I probably should have started a separate thread for this, so I will....  Don't want to distract from Adam's agenda (which looks good by the way.) 

Mikey (ParrotHead) and I are going to fit a sail on Lake Tahoe into our trip.  Anyone else interested (see the link above for details).  Haven't decided on noon, afternoon or sunset cruise or what day.

One thing we can do on Saturday is the Run What Ya Brung Car Show at Fuji Park (sounds like its in Tokyo).  Can go see the cars, but don't know if anyone would want to enter.  It costs $60.00!!!  Shocked
They must be real proud of their cars.

Originally, I was thinking we'd be a part of that show. Then I found it how much it costs and how crowded it already will be.  So I figured we'd just stop by. Then I was recently told that it is so crowded, there wouldn't even be a place for us to temporarily put our cars.  So I'm thinking we'll have to scrap that visit.
