Mikey (ParrotHead) and I are going to fit a sail on Lake Tahoe into our
trip. Anyone else interested?
Haven't decided on noon, afternoon or sunset cruise or what day.

I can't think of a more perfect day....driving the Vette to go sailing
I'm going to call to check on availability...

I would love to, just one small problem, wife is still alive, and there is no way in hell she will go sailing, that is on the list of things to do after she is creamated, going to take her urn and afterwards open it up draw a little smiley face and politly say " see honey, told you you would like it" that will be the same for bungi jumping, ocean criuse, sailing, sky jumping. but thanks for the offer. Sorry to hear that Larry! I guess I don't think of sailing as being dangerous..as long as you know what you're doing or are with someone who does! Some people don't like the heeling. We love to take out people who have never sailed and watch their expression when the boat's heeled at 30 degrees (or more)! They're sure we're gonna tip over! We just tell them to put their feet on the side of the boat to brace themselves, not on the floor.
I love it! Love the rails in the water!!! You're not going very fast in a sail boat, but the sensation of speed is incredible....and no engine...just the wind.

And Bob Marley on the stereo, and that slurping sound when it's time to refill the margarita.
I called and it looks like the 21st or 22nd would work well. We'd need about 20 people to justify our own charter but we can go individually with less. Beer, wine and soft drinks are complimentary.
I spoke with the skipper and he sounds knowledgeable and conscientious with a 100-ton USCG masters license. The vessel is a Santa Cruz 50, which was really designed for racing from California to Hawaii. They sail along the windward shore which means it doesn't get rough.
So, a couple of options exist.
1. Go Thursday afternoon (sail 2:30 - 4:30).
2. Incorporate this excursion in the "Jaunt Around the Lake" and go Friday. There should be plenty of time to get back to Carson City before dark - even if we stopped for dinner somewhere.
It'd be nice to get some idea of how many are interested well before the trip. One way or another, Karen and I will be going.

Glad you were able to find it Jim and glad you're thinking about coming along!!!!
In case other's are in the same situation, the cost is $40 per person for the noon or afternoon cruise and $50 per person for the sunset cruise. I'm thinking the noon or afternoon would be best. That's cheap compared to some other charters we've been on! And they provide complimentary beer, wine, bottled water and soda!

I love to sail, but 20 people on the boat pictured in the website looks like it would be crowded.
It will really depend on the weather. Warm sunny day, count me in. Cold rainy day, forget it.

My experience with sail was in January, lotsa whitecaps , lotsa wind, on the Chesapeake Bay. I dinna like it!
I think I'll do my sailing in the Vette. That's why I'm going in the first place.
