Didn't get any scars, but got into the rainstorm north ofStaunton, VA.....wow!!!! had to pull over on the berm....set there for about 45 minutes....forgot to shut the AC off and when we got to Harrisonburg to our room, guess what? She wouldn't start.. here the battery was discharging while sitting along the road. A nice lady did let me jump start it.........It was ok in the morning. Rest of the trip went well, couldn't see any major chips... I bought it to drive and that's what we do..........Had a wonderful time..........can't wait for the west coast trip.
Mine did well, I inspected it fast while loading on a trailer in Seattle, will do a major inspection this weekend when she arrives. I think all the 3M clear coat tape saved the day and the nose bra did it's job. I do have a broken inside door handle, passenger side, wife tried to bail out on the Dragon's Tail, took it right off and for some reason the hood will not open? Cable? What a trip, I still dream about it at night. All you people are awesome..
Nice the hear that your trip was a very good one. Maye next year will even be better. Eh...
I just noticed this thread.... That little "S" hook thingy that is now a candy cane is the spring that holds your door open. Luckily they are cheap at Ecklers and relatively simple to install, you gotta ruin an old scrwedriver for the installation though. You're lucky... when mine broke it took a big chunk out of the leading edge of my door and ended up leading to a complete repaint when I couldn't bear to look at it any more. You'd best jump in there right now and tighten up those header bolts. I had to do that after the "Tail" run....
Our trip was relatively uneventful except for the rain and drizzle. Of course it was only 250 miles.
Glad everyone had a safe trip with minimal damage.
Dave
Terry and Elba,
Glad to hear you made it home safely and that your 2006 summer adventure was a success. Hope to see you on the west coast in '07.

Dave and mike Thank you, we will not miss it for anything. We made a short run up highway 1 on the coast of California, not like the Dragon's Tail but nice corvette road never the less. Maybe a side trip for next year's gathering?..Terry
P.S. Dave did the pictures you took at the race track come out?

Terry,
Maybe if all goes well. We'll try go seeing my brother just before the gathering next year.
Hoping we do.
I still wonder why you didn't get out of my way.... And to think I was the Green mobile.
Had a wonderful time at the track.
Dave, why did you go the wrong way on the track
