Norsky, if you take the shortest route to Pigeon Forge, you'll meet the above around Cincinnati and us at the above times? I say you will have just over 1000 miles to travel in one direction..Hope to meet ya..Terry
So it will be the " Northwest meets the West" Caravan and merge into one around Knoxville to enter Pigeon Forge as a united C3VR Corvette Caravan of the United States? No, I may have some Canadians that will be present. So, it will be a International C3VR Corvette Caravan that will arrive united at Pigeon Forge in June. OMG it's going to be an International Event..This is big..

Now how are we all going to fit everyone in this small town?
Your right on the International Event. Not big but HUGE!!
A couple of things will determine my route if I'm able to attend. THE most important will be whether or not I swing through the Akron, OH area to pick up a passenger.
Originally I was thinking of heading south from Minnesota to hookup with the W-M-E gang in either the Kansas City area or southern Illinois. Not the most direct routes for me but fun none the less. Terry, you're correct in that my most direct route would drop me into Knoxsville to hookup with everyone for a GRAND entrance into PF.
So if the stars get all aligned and I make the swing through Akron will probably try to hookup with the gang coming from the northeast somewhere along I-81.
My plans certainly are in flux at the moment but that doesn't diminish the use of this thread for coordinating others coming from the Upper Midwest or Great Lakes area.
Soooo.... looking at maps generated using Rand McNally's web site I'd suggest that folks from Michigan hookup in the Toledo area and head south through Cincinnati, Lexington, etc.
That allows for a couple of hookup spots for folks coming from Indiana or the west side of Ohio.
Lots of time to dial all this in closer.

Yeah, okay, since it looks like this thread was started in my behalf (thanks Norsky) I would just like to say that while I want to get to PF the quickest route possible (if I am indeed able to go), the I-75 corridor is notorious for "orange cones" and 45MPH speed limits most of every summer.
That said, I'm willing to hook up with anyone, anytime, anywhere, just so long as I don't have to lead, and I don't bring up the rear (can just see something catastrophic happening and the 'van leaving me in the dust!) I would be more than willing to take a more scenic route to my destination, rather than the most direct. Maybe I could swing down through Indiana and pick up everyone's "red-headed step child" Tux!
Come on, Tux, black sheep, white sheep...they all taste like lamb to me, or mutton depending on the age! First time I ate mutton was in '92 during a work trip to Adelaide, Australia. Stayed in a small town called Mannum along the Murray River, and bought it in a little Mom/Pop grocery shop. Definitely not as good as lamb!
Coolest thing about that trip was one of the local residents had a nice chrome bumper Vette (68 through 72, can't remember which exact year) that he had imported and converted to right hand drive. It was cherry. But really, the local bartender at one of the pubs also had a very nice, souped up Australian hot rod (Holden or Ford, still can't remember) he took me for a ride in outside of town. Very well built, and FAST!
But I digress...the point is to make this trip fun and scenic, if I'm able to go. Besides, I actually hate driving through Kentucky (no offense to any residents), don't ask me why.
I guess when it comes right down to it, I'll get there one way or another. It's not getting there, but the drive, that counts.

Actually I would be the "blond" headed step-child. My local Vette buddues have teased me about painting my ride black since day 1. The predominant color is red and I'm the kid of the group so I'm the black somnething to them all the time.
Whatever direction the Vette-A-Van wants to travel is fine I am just starting to look for one of them to blend into. I can travel towards Louisville as well I'm stuck an Hour from either direction. Like you I'm in no hurry and drivin this car looks good and its fun but the creature comforts just aren't there.
