I may travel with you guys if the trip is in August. I have been agonizing over to go or not. I have a trip to Baton Rouge on the 14th to work with 15 other guys from our church on a commercial building. A pastor down there is setting up a job training and placement center to help the displaced people from Katrina. We will be the first team in and do all the rough in of electrical, plumbing and frame in the day care, computer lab and offices. Maybe some sheet rock and repair of the eves. So there is one week of vacation time. Then in June I take the family to a resort on the Washington coast for a week. In November we go for a week to Portland to be with family. Then do the same thing in December. I think I need to invest in a oil company
My wife did tell me she was taking the kids to Clarksville Tennessee this summer to see her sister(she was keeping this a secret, figured I would say no). So I guess I could time it with this gathering. Now for the logistics. My insurance limits the annual miles I can drive so I either have to change my insurance or find a trailer to haul it on. I also will have to get the A/C working or roast.

Even with the date change there will be Corvettes that will drop out and Corvettes that will join in
the, West meets East Caravan. The first post in this thread has a trip planner and a map of the route the West meets East Caravan will take. Myself and others are determined to see this thru. My email address is spielman5@gci.net I will continue to make a list of caravan members, workout details on were and when to join the caravan as it passes your area and answer any other questions that you may have. My hope is that this Corvette Caravan will now grow larger than before, the fun and expectations of the road trip is still here, we are just sorry some have to drop out
. Now time is shorter to prepare your vehicles, the weather will not be so hot? A good time will be had by all please join me and I hope Iron82 for a blast of a life time..
P.S. I'm from ALASKA, I like it hot..

Thanks Terry for the info. I may look into new insurance this summer. The limitations on collectors insurance concerns me. I don't know how to lock the vette in a garage if I am staying in hotels while driving across the country. Its also hard to stay under the mileage limitations. Any event I go to is at least 1-1/2 hrs away. If I head to Seattle its 3hrs and Portland is 5-1/2 hours.
If things work out I will be driving my truck and towing the vette on a trailer. I am going to make it a family vacation and take 3 weeks off from work. Figure if I am driving that far, I should stop and smell the roses. At least that's what the wife says.
My wife's sister and her husband lives in Clarksville, TN so we will probably spend the 4th with them. I also have a time share which I am going to try and trade for a place in Gatlinburg. So if that works we will stay a few days after the event.
Should be a fun trip. I will try and hook up with you around I82 and I84. I'll through some tools and supplies into the truck just in case.

I know the voices aren't real, but they have some pretty cool ideas...
