Yo, Carson City Gang! Dave Moody (DaveM) is FINALLY on his way back to Jersey! His Jet Black 82 (license DNKK 82) was being repaired for about 9 days in Podunk, Nevada. He's limping home now; his problems aren't completely fixed (Check Engine Light comes on, perhaps some kind of vacuum leak; it starts hard, idles rough, and runs poorly at low speeds).
He dropped by here yesterday. After a car wash (looks like a different car!), some oil for the machine, some grilled chicken for the driver, and a good nite's sleep, he headed East again. Suggested he stop and check out the Arch in St. Louis on his way. Before he left, he managed a couple of happy snaps of Penny and his Black Beauty sharing a garage.
They shore looked cute and got along real well.

He hopes to make it back by Sunday. Tough luck to break down on such a long trip like that.
From the stories he told, it sounds like you guys really had a great time! Keep him in your prayers until he gets home.

Just got off the phone with DaveM.
He is in Indiana tonight and plans to be home tomorrow evening.
He figured it's about a 10 hour drive.
He said the Vette ran good today. Must have liked the car wash at sundevil74's place.
He said he was glad he stopped there. Brightened his day.
It's good to have a friend in Leavenworth (the city, not the pen).

Nice to see an Old Black Beauty make it from coast to coast.

Oops! My mistake. For some reason (old age maybe?) I called Jersey Dave "Moody" and not Mooney. And no, it wasn't because of his mood, despite the car trouble.
He's maintaining a great attitude. I'd be totally fried by now!

I was glad to hear the update from Dave Wright this evening. Go Mooney, Go! He's the only guy I ever met who actually WANTED to go back to Jersey!! Wonder if he got to see the Arch in STL today?
Will he be the last CC attendee to return? Sounds like another trophy to me???
BTW, it wasn't the carwash so much as it was the great water we have here. Right out of the Missouri River!
Dave apparently didn't read the entire rule book about owning a black vette. When he drove up, I swear it was GREY! We had to fix that right quick!

Good night and good luck!

Sure hope Dave makes it home without any more trouble. He would have been welcome to have stayed in my house yesterday he woulda had the run of the house until we got in at 1:30 from Cuyahoga. I don't reckon Tux would have minded havin a lil black sista sleepin next ta him in da garage overnite...

I wonder if the altitude had anything to do with it ? Most of our cars were'nt running thier best at 4000 to 6000 ft.
