Being a first-timer to one of these things, I have a couple questions.

Someone already asked about driving the Vettes back and forth from MAM to the hotel.  Are we expected to keep the Vettes at MAM?  I will only have my one car for transportation.

I saw in some pictures from previous years, that some people had showboards for their cars.  Should we bring these along?  How about sitting?  Should we bring folding chairs to use while at MAM?

Does anyone have any additional info on the day to day activities?  The only thing I know about are the autocross and moonshine cruize.

Can't wait to meet everyone.  Are we there yet?

Both completely up to you. There will be a Show and Shine (I think on Saturday).

Still waiting for them to post the entire Agenda,  Mostly, we're missing the info on Seminars at this point.  As soon as I get more info, I will be letting every one know.

Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses. 2008 Jetstream Blue Convertible
Glad to have you here Chuck!  I have always loved the 80-82 body style.  If they made those as convertibles, that would have been what I bought.

One of the great things about this group is that we like to DRIVE our cars!  There are a few that get trailered in and out (and stay on MAM grounds overnight), but most folks drive their cars back and forth to the hotel each night.  The parking lot at the hotel will be mainly Corvettes (and tow vehicles of Corvette owners), so you can trust your car should be secure and safe from door dings.

As Adam said, showboards are completely optional.  I take one and put it up, but I would say most don't.  If you have one and can easily fit it, bring it and you can make the decision once you're there.  If you don't have one, don't feel pressured to get/make one.

Chairs are a MUST!  We do like to sit around the cars and hang out with friends new and old.  If you can't fit one (or more) in your car (we all know how limited space is!), some folks bring extras and empties can almost always be found as folks walk around to view the other cars.

Looking forward to seeing you there.  I'll be on the Moonshine cruise too

I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Yeah, Chuck, this event is brand new so none of us have any experience with it! As far as a showboard, I won't have one 'cus there just isn't enough room for one (maybe if the wife didn' go)! You can just wing it like the rest of us! I WOULD bring chairs, though. They come in real handy when you,re in the same place for a while. I'm really looking forward to this event  and am sure we'll all have a GRAND time! See you soon!

Clint,

Thanks for the welcome.  Like I said, the wifey and I can't wait to meet everyone.
By the way, I see that you own a '64.  How do you like it?  I am going to look at a red '64 coupe (327/365) next week.  If I like what I see, I will buy it.

Chuck -

I LOVE it. I have driven it everywhere - NCM (where I met this crowd), Ark, TX.

It always get's the looks when on the road.

Be sure to check the bird cage behind the glove box, the frame rails, body panels, gaps, etc.

Good Luck and you cant go wrong with a 2.

Thanks for the tips.  I'll make sure I check everything.  If it's even close to as good as the pictures look, I think I'll be buying it.  (The engine and undercarriage are so clean that you could eat off them.)
