I wanted to let you know of something new here in Bend.  It is something you can do in the evenings of the Gathering, as you walk the old downtown, and while we are in Sisters.   I've already downloaded my passport!

The Bend Ale Trail - Your Beer Adventure Begins in Bend, Oregon

For a thousand good reasons Bend, Oregon is widely known as the premier outdoor playground of the United States. But a lesser known element of the Bend Experience is the city’s extraordinary abundance of craft beer – incredibly delicious craft beer! In our little mountain town of 82,000 people, Bend has 7 world-class craft breweries all within walking distance of one another and awaiting your visit.

Starting on June 1st, you can use the Bend Ale Trail Map and Passport available in the latest Discovery Map of Central Oregon to discover Bend’s 7 breweries – and for extra credit, head to our neighboring brewery in Sisters to visit the 8th! Be sure to get your passport stamped at each location. When you get all 7 stamps, stop by or send your completed passport to the Visit Bend Welcome Center and receive a commemorative Bend Silipint made especially for beer drinkers on the go! And, if you do your extra credit and visit Sisters, you’ll receive a special surprise.

The Bend Ale Trail gives visitors and locals alike a glimpse into the unique craft brewery culture of Central Oregon. Learn about the cutting-edge brewing techniques used by Bend’s brewers, meet the artisan brewers who have launched the Bend beer scene onto the World stage, and experience the diversity of styles, art and taste that differentiate each of our region’s breweries.

There is no purchase required to participate in the Bend Ale Trail.

Keep tabs on the Bend Ale Trail by visiting this page for more information and fun updates coming soon. You can follow us on Twitter @BendAleTrail, too. Have a question? Email us at beer@visitbend.com

Didn't notice a map  for the Ale Trail available for download, maybe we can hire a native scout to show us the way when we get to the territory. Guess we won't need a canteen on the hike, should we bring sun screen Wink?

Mike,
I went by VisitBend today, talked with Doug & saw the "Silipint".  It is a it is in the shape & size of a pub pint glass.  It is made out of a: lightweight/soft/cear/rubbery/foamy/squeezable/liquidholding/type of stuff that won't leak!   There, does that answer your question????  It is made by a local company Tazlab.  (www.tazlab.com).
Actually, the Silipint  is very, very cool!!
I will have one at the "Meet & Greet"   (just know it will be empty by the time you get there....)

And Jimmy,
I have your back!  I picked up maps today.  Don't want you to get lost....They will be at the "Meet & Greet".  VisitBend will include the map in future  mailings. Just contact Valerie @  Valerie@visitbend.com   The map is called "Discovery Bend".  The passport is printed in the top left corner of the map.  The Ale trail is so new that it won't be in the earlier mailings.

Here is the web site for the Silipint. www.silipint.com  The Welcome Center has not received their shipment yet.  If they do not arrive during the Gathering,  they will mail the pint to you at no charge.   Even international!
