There is no way I am drivng mine to Nevada but I am considering flying into Vegas and renting a later model Vette to drive to Carson City. Do yall think I will be shunned by the group for driving something other than a C3. I know I will be shunned for something, I just don't want it to be about the car.

I'm not driving. I'm flying and rental a ricer.
I wanted to rent a Vette, but it will cost more than the rest of the entire trip to do it.  See this thread:
If the Founder of C3VR is driving a ricer to the gathering, you can! Confused

Don't feel alone, Scott, I'm flying to Vegas and renting a car too.  Just set it up a reservation for a Grand Prix.  At least its GM, but not a Vette.   Like Adam said, they cost a fortune to rent and insure.

I would love to rent a new Yellow Z06, but the wife wouldn't let me get a 2nd mortgage!

I am shocked and disappointed that this sort of thing takes place on this web site. These suggestions of drinking, carousing and illicit relations are way out of line for this site. This stuff should be in the "no go zone" of this site. My opinion of the membership of this group has been altered for life. I am aghast. (If you believe that - I gotta bridge in Toledo I'll sell you cheap). What a kicka** idea. That sounds like a hoot. For the wives, we can rent a tour bus and send them all shopping at a mall in a nearby city for the day - like Omaha, Nebraska. Personnally, I'd have to spend a least a day and a half there just to get prepared. At my age, I have to take half a Viagra a day just to avoid peeing on my shoes. Wife knows I'm harmless. But I still have eyes that work pretty well when I'm up close and personnal. I only hope that with the work situation, I'll be able to attend - I don't want to miss this for the world. It's all about the people - not the cars - they are just the glue that holds us together. Don't feel bad about driving something different,  unless it's not a GM product or a Ford truck.

P.S. I'm still trying to figure out what condums have to do with driving a manual trans - can anybody help me?

Well, the condums have nothing to do with driving a manual transmission; we "need" them for the shopping trip...for "handling" the beef cake!!!   Wink  Rolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20Laughing
