We had 73+/- people at the 2008 C3VR Gathering! I think this was our best yet. We also had 40+/- Vettes, also a great showing.

The resort we stayed at was great, with the exception of the lack of internet access in the rooms. (But we knew that going in, and only affected a small percentage of the group). The staff was really nice too! I can't think of another hotel that I stayed at where the cleaning staff (every one of them) said hello to me as I passed them in the hall. The lot was decent for us. They had a wash area (for 2 cars at a time) set up for us. They had a nice sized bar. The location on the lake was really pretty. The rooms all had a view of the lake. All the rooms were HUGE. The pool area was really pretty, just needed a fresh coat of paint, but still got some use from some of our members... Let's just say I saw more of Mickey's husband than I needed to see!!!
They even had a really nice trail around the property with a walkway to the edge of the pennisula.

We had a great agenda jam packed with lots of great road tours, sightseeing, lunches and dinners. Go-karts, as always, was a GREAT time! Also, two words... bumper boats. Wait till you see the pictures of that!
And what would a C3VR gathering be without all of us outside getting poured on!!! The Friday morning photo shoots couldn't have had worse weather. It was only slightly misting until the time we were ready to take the pictures, high a top a fire truck ladder. We all got pretty drenched. It took me the rest of the day to dry off, and had to warm my feet by the fire at the lodge lobby (You'll probably see pictures of that too) where we had a great buffet lunch.
As usual, we had a fantastic group of folks in attendance and we all had a great time chit-chatting with each other.
3 members even walked away with awards from the local Vette show on Saturday. JDGrant took 1st place in the C3 class with vettecountry receiving a C3 class award as well. spielman won the long distance award (surprise, suprise)

I could probably go on and on, and I'm sure there are other people that can chime in on just how great the event was. Plus there were other things that I was not a part of that people could tell you about.... something about a game played in a hotel room late Friday night.
The Saturday night night-cap was a hoot too. Thanks to Butch!!

These events keep getting better and better!!!!
Hope to see even more of you for the 2009 gathering in the Eastern Region... more specifically the New England area... possibly Newport Rhode Island.

We got home around quarter to four this afternoon, after our Texas caravan trip home.
This was our first gathering-----and it DEFINITELY won't be our last! Everyone was so nice and welcoming, it feels like we've known y'all forever instead of just for 4 days.
Have two videos of those S curves in the mountains--will post the youtube link as soon as I get them uploaded.
Looking forward to next year!!!!!

Hello all:) We got home about 6:15ish, with no problems. A 12 hr drive-well worth it- with beautiful sunshine the entire way. Great to see familiar faces again, and meet new ones. Had a wonderful time!!! Thanks to all that put this together. Dick & Jill
