On Sunday morning Pete and I headed out of BG later than most, sooner than a few. We decided to head over towards Dayton, Ohio to visit the USAF Museum at Wright Patterson AFB (Pete had been in the Air Force 30 years ago and I am fascinated with airplanes so it was an easy choice). We also hoped we could contact a high school chum of ours who lives in the area.
We had a beautiful sunny drive to Dayton and arrived at the museum about 15 minutes before closing time so made plans to go back first thing on Monday morning. Also got lucky and made contact with our friend so had dinner Sunday night with him. Lots of catching up to do as it had been nearly 15 years since the three of us had seen each other...!!!
Monday morning dawned dark, gray and wet so spending 5 hours at the museum meant we missed driving through the heaviest of the rains that fell. We still drove through rain most of the way to Oglesby, IL (about halfway between Bloomington and Rockford). Today we woke up to gray skies but didn't find any rain on the drive back into Wisconsin and Minnesota. I dropped Pete off at his home in Menomonie, WI before 3 o'clock and pulled into the driveway at 'The Ranch' slightly before 5 o'clock.
Other than collecting a little interior water from all the rain we drove through "The Toy" performed as well as could be expected. Hope all the rest of you had uneventful homeward trips.
It was great fun to see friends made last year and to meet new friends this year!
Thanks go to the NCM staff for putting together an excellent gathering!
And thanks to everyone who was able to attend for making this gathering the best one I've ever been to...!!!

Glad you and Pete had a safe trip. The USAF Museum is awesome. Michele and I went there last year. I was her "tour guide" that day. It was great meeting you two guy's, and of course everyone else to. And thanks for all you do for C3VR.
For those who don't know...Jim O. (Norsky) is going to be the "Official Ambassador" of C3VR to the NCM.
We put him up to it. And he is the one that has been posting NCM News on the forum anyways. So I felt that he was best for the job.
Thanks Jim!
