Topic: How was everyones trip home?
in Forum: Annual C3VR Member Gathering

I got back towing my vette at 2pm this afternoon (monday). we stayed over last night in staunton, va for the night. rain was horrible. our rooms we got were leaking and so was the lobbys roof. god, i will never stay there again. but safe and sound and we dropped off the trailor and got home safely. my vette is now sleeping in its garage, nice and dry till the next show or event comes around.
see you all around,
Jeremy H.
Great to meet all you guys and gals, and glad everyone is home safe so far. We had to leave Saturday afternoon unexpectedly and didn't really get to say goodbye, so here it is, GOODBYE and a safe trip to all!!!

Glad to here that I'm not alone when it comes to leaks, for the most part we were dry with the occasional drip. (gotta work on that).
Sounds like new header gaskets are in order though. I could hear the distinctive sound and slight smell of fumes by the time we got home. Oh well, I can Get R Done before the Mid America show & Bowling Green!!! See ya'll soon!

Just got in at 6:00 PM... we left 5:00 am... took us 12 hours with stops(Gas guzzler), and rain... drove 11 hours with little traffic and 15 miles from home traffic jam for 10 miles... backed up... spent an hour working around it... rain was terrible at times, but my sealing of the new header and windshield etc was fine Thanks to help on this forum).. no leaks and it was surely a real good test (3M is great) ... just need to make some minor adjustments to the side windows and it will be perfect as i can get it... we didn't get wet at all..
... we had a great time and really enjoyed our first one with the C3VR gang... kudos to Adam, Mike, Norsky, Stingray and everyone else that helped put this on (we know who you are now)... Finally got to put some faces to the names and my wife now knows why I love this site...
... and last but not least thanks Belgium Barry... popped a few for ya! Your the "man".
And thanks to all that responded to Mikes phone #.. we met up no problem that night... gotta wash that filthy car tomorrow

Just like everyone else, minor difficulties, plenty of rain.
Thanks to all for a great time, good food, great ride on the
Tail of the Dragon.....racepark was fun, too.....although I
spun out Norsky's sister (sorry, hope she understands it was
in fun only). Hope to see everyone next year.

glad to hear all went well, sorry I could not go, but I was able to put around a thousand miles on the vette up here driving in a big ol triangle, to problems, temp outside was in the mid 80's to high 90's and the temp never went above 200 degrees., the last part of the trip home oil gauge started to bounce a little bit? maybe loose wire. After all of the money i have spent on this vacumn system i think it would have been cheaper to fly ken out and pay him to fix it, it still is not working again, vacuman leak some where that nobody can find, really starting to piss me off....... The vette BBQ in tigard Or, sponsored my mt. hood corvettes had an unoffical total of 116 vettes all c classes were there. glad to hear all went fine and every had a great time. will see you all next year.

My trip home ( left the hotel 10:00 ) was fine until rain started in the middle of the trip on I81 N. The first accident had the road closed at MM250, so we decided to detour to Rt 11 through Harrisonburg...big mistake. The rain started heavy, you know, white knuckle 20 MPH. It was all down hill from there. Accidents just about every hour or so with the rain just as hard as I've EVER SEEN. Got home dodging stalled out cars and spun out cars in the meadian strips.....
Kathy was certainly glad we did not drive Ol Blu.....it would have been buried in water for sure. Safe home in the SS about 10:30, performed flawlessly in the almost unpassible water at times.
Great to put faces to names....
Thanks to all who worked so hard to make this outing a success. Thanks to Barry for the beer, popped a few for you buddy!

Thanks to all of you that made the weekend GREAT. Our trip home wasn't too bad-some rain, no leaks
, altho we didn't get home till around 9pm. Just had to go back into the Smokies, up to where the hydroelectric plant can be seen from above. Had lunch sitting on a rock wall in the rain with an awesome view. Would have loved to have done the ""Tail" again, but the wife was not to be persuaded
. A big THANK YOU to Stingray Jim for the relish
and to Theresa for the food and everyone else that helped and contributed to make this one fantastic time. The wife will e-mail the minutes tomorrow because she put in a 10 hour day today and I'm not messing with her
(that means "no clucking" to you Tuxblacray
). &nbs p; Butch
