I just got off the phone with the event planner at Mid America Motorworks. She would like us to come up with some ideas of what we'd like to see and do there.

1) What kind of seminars would you like to attend? Be specific and creative. Can be general topics like maintenance, or specific topics like radiators.

2) What things would you like to do? Road tours to sight-see? How long are you willing to drive one-way for such tours? Do you want only car related destinations or generic local points-of-interest, or both?

I need to get these ideas to her by June 1st, so please reply ASAP.

Thanks!

A road cruise to a destination of about an hour seems to fit about perfect in the past at some of the Midwest Cruise In functions. This can be to and from the location.

It kind of depends on how large the group is going to be and the other portions of the days agenda. If the group is going to be pretty large like the Funfest road cruise she will be better off having a cruise by itself unless the destinations are close.

For a couple of seminar ideas of interest to me:
Performance Choice - Seat restoration from frame to finish.
Fantastic Finish - Products and application that preserve, protect, & produce show stopping body brilliance.

Tux,
She has plenty of seminar and sight-seeing ideas.  She justs wants to know what WE would like to see and do, so she makes sure to plan things that we'll actually have interest in.

Thanks.

How about a how to on our most requested posts?

C3 how to brakes - Do's and Don'ts, bleeding, new lines, caliper differences, rotor vs bearing runout and how to tell, etc - seems to always be issue with C3s.

C3 suspension 101 - what componets do and inportance

C3 tires and wheels - what really fits by size 15,16, 17, etc - back spacing....

C3 how to carpet install, interior refresh, etc.

C3 how to radio upgrades and options

C3 how to rubber bumper replacement \ options

C3 how to basic tune-up before and after HEI, etc with timing issues.

C3 how to vacuum lines, importance, leaks and repair

As far as a cruise, I agree it depends on the number cars and photo ops - only C3VR group \ everyone or a mix. I have never been in the area and have no idea of points of interst.

At the 2009 Funfest there was a presentation on general C3 maintenance; the most interesting portion was a discussion on motor oil and the removal of Zinc... There has been a lot of speculation on this subject so this could be an interesting topic.

Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses. 2008 Jetstream Blue Convertible

Cabin heat.  Many of us have spoken about heat coming from the floor, the firewall, even heat blowing when no fans are on.  I recently bypassed my heater core, but it would have been nice if MAM or someone sold a part that made this simple.  I know there are also solutions in the way of floor insulation and such.

I grew up about 80 miles from MAM.  I'll try to think of some interesting POIs nearby.  Offhand, I can think of at least one Abraham Lincoln site, although I would agree with Tux - depending on the size of the group, a cruise with no destination might be best.  Not sure if ya'll know this or not, but central Illinois is kinda flat with lots of right angle country roads...

I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Some advice on how to deal with a new re-built higher H/P engine and the additive in the gas, for the GREEN people and emissions.  Most of the other questions have been addressed so I will see how they play out.  We plan to be there to take advantage of all information sessions.   M-n-S

Vette(s): 1980 L-48 still in the middle of a frame-off.
A seminar on prepping for paint, choosing the right paint and application methods and tips.  I would be more then happy to let them use my car as a demo for a full paint job.

A side trip for fun activities like go carts.

Have a couple of spots for photo ops with our cars.
