Mark, I copy you loud and clear! I cant make a commitment to the CA trip until closer to the time. I will give the group a great customer satisfaction story about Corvette America though. Last year I purchased a complete interior for my 72, I mean everything. It was from a vette vendor in georgia. They ask if I could pick it up at carlisle in August to save shipping. I said yes and they said it would be furnished by Corvette America I would just need to go to their tent. Well I showed up at the tent and met one of their reps, John Zubler. Not only did they supply the parts, he helped me log my entire interior which was seat foams, dash pads, carpet, trims, consoles, I mean everything for the interior out to my van which was 2 blocks outside the fair grounds. An John was very happy to help as well. Now 2 weeks ago I installed the dash and when I took pictures I noticed the map pocket was off color. I sent an email and pics to Corvette America customer service and the next day I received an email from John Zubler, the gentleman that helped take my parts out to my van that day saying he rememebered me from that weekend and he would help me correct the problem. He is sending me a return label so I can get a map pocket that matches as he thinks from the pics I sent I got a medium saddle pocket instead of a light saddle pocket. I have to say that is customer satisfaction and going out of the way to make me happy. Remember I didnt purchase the parts directly from them! Since I found out about them I have bought my interior parts directly from them and now I'm really glad I do! Great company and I will do what I can to make the tour that day. Just cant commit at this time.
Rich, if you need tires I will give you my cost and help mount and balance them if it helps you out. I can do the Firestone or BFG's (my favorites) or many other brands if you want. I can even let you borrow the ones from the 74. But my new BFG's on the new Cragars are off limits! lol Let me know.

Rodney..I found a local company that makes these old tires that I want up in Hershey..Universal tire..got to love google!..I have heard getting these things to bead is one pita...they are involved with the AACA some how..I think they help with the show up there every year..I may just let them m and b these since I don't have a cheetah and I don't like throwing matches at tires! I have seen how they are wrapped tight for some reason at Carlilse..probably to keep them scuff free since one costs about as much as a set of BFGs..they have a bunch to chose from so now the tough part is..Firestone or goodyear..my tank sticker says it came with the white stripe..not sure in which tire though..I think the cragers have found a good home where they are now!
I think its pretty neat the CA is opening its doors to us..it should be the opening to a great summer of fun!

Barry where can you get a set of Firestones for $350?Is a set 2 or 4 tires. Also Rich the Hess station is at exit 35 north side in york just off 83.How dose that sound as a meeting place?
Rick
Rick that sounds great..I am only 10 miles south so can be there no problem..we can pick a time when it comes closer..but I think 10 or so would work..its 88 miles from here so that should give us enough time to get lost a few times!

Rick, that's what I paid for my set of four mounted and balanced ( of course it was a few years ago ). Besides, don't leave us out! We're going up that way, too! ( Although I WILL look stunning with the new paint job and all!
)

Barry maybe you guys could drive up together and meet up on exit 35..is Hank coming? Not sure I already asked that or not..its fun having him around too..how is his car going with the paint?

I helped him pick up his car Friday. It looks really good! I mean it would have been better if he did the whole car but Lew got all the bad spots out and matched the paint perfectly! The best thing he got done was all new body mounts. The right rear of his body was banging up and down on the frame rail! The worst part is, he had complained about the banging to a few different shops and not one caught it! His Vette now rides pretty much level ( it had a cast before ). Hank says it drives much better now, also!
