Vette(s): Used to own a 1979 Corvette now owned by JB79
I just found out from the NCM that due to lack of participation in the Classic Corvette Extravaganza, 2007 will be the last one.

So if you want to be part of "history", get there this year!

UPDATE 8/17: I just found out that there are currently only 13 people registered for the 2007 event. I was told if they don't get 50 people registered, they will cancel this years event.  So if you are planning to attend, REGISTER NOW!  If you want to help those folks that already registered and want to go, you can help by also attending and REGISTER NOW!

UPDATE 9/10/07: I just heard that 30 people are registered.  I believe their magic number is still 50. So if you plan to go an haven't registered yet, please REGISTER NOW.

I think it was doomed from the beginning because of the late fall date.
Too bad they weren't willing to try a different date.

Let's make this last one memorable for C3VR members.

At least we can plan some great dinners together while we are there.

Dang...I was hoping to make it to one some day.
I guess people just weren't that interested...

People weren't that interested at that late date.  Typical of the museum though, pandering to the newer C-5/6 owners.

That right there is why I have a hard time seeing myself paying for a membership at the museum....

WHAT A SHAME. SHOULDN`T MATTER WHAT THE ATTENDANCE IS. A TIME SHOULD BE DESIGNATED FOR HISTORIC VEHICLES. aFTER ALL IF YOU PARK A STINGRAY NEXT TO A C5 OR C6 THE STINGRAY ALWAYS GETS THE ATTENTION. i DO AGREE THE DATE WAS A FACTOR IN MY LACK OF ATTENDANCE. bUT, I DON`T THINK THE NCM DID A GOOD JOB PROMOTING IT EITHER. i`VE NEVER HEARD OF IT OTHER THAN THIS WEBSITE.

It is a shame that they aren't going to continue it.

I agree with the fact that it is too late in the season. It is only about 3 hours for me but if it is too cold, I am not interested in freezing for 3 hours. I am a supporter of the museum and member. I do make it to the museum for at least one event a year and enjoy my time there.

I think you might be on to something there......seems to me like they are promoting the C5 and the C6, but mostly the C6 and getting a new one and have it delivered there.  Last time I was there in June........I didn't not see a C3 (they are in hiding...LOLLOL)! Dead
