IF I'm able to make it to Hot Springs the quickest route according to MapQuest and Rand McNally is taking I-35 south out of the Twin Cities to the east side of Kansas City, then follow the western Missouri border (mostly on US 71) to Fort Smith, AR, and then cross country to Hot Springs.  Both planners figure it to be about 865 miles and 14 hours from my driveway to the resort.

If he is able to make it my buddy Pete will most likely be travelling with me.  Don't know yet if we'll attempt to make it all in one day or break it up, for me it depends on available vacation time.  We'll have cell phones and FRS radios with.

Wally, I don't know if you have done any travel planning yet but we can talk as the time draws nearer.
