I took over 150 pictures.

I will post them soon.

In the mean time...
if I had a decent camera, this would have been a great shot!

I like your composition better, but this didn't come out all that bad... I wish that I had thought of doing this a day earlier. Then, I could have set the shot up better...

Vette(s): 1979, 350sb, as my kids affectionately call it "shit brown" Corvette purchased in 1996. 84,000+ miles. Not a show car, but I love her just the same.
Actually, I like both shots! Adam's does have that surreal quality to it. Hell, I thought it was a black corvette when I first saw it! Course everything is black at night isn't it?!

The contrast between light and dark, the highlights, the light from the tower behind all add up to great composition. I don't think you could have gotten a better shot if you had planned it Adam.

I think it would be a great picture for the calendar! Remember, as humans we have this great faculty called imagination. You don't always have to see the car to imagine what it really looks like. Just remember that the next time you hear a great sounding engine go by and don't get a chance to see the car utilizing it...your imagination takes over, and judging from this group everyone of us imagines a corvette!

Great shots, guys, no matter what you think could have been better.

Did you use a tri-pod for this?
How long did you leave the shutter open?

Yup, used a tripod. It was a 1.3 second exposure at F4. (ISO 200, 29mm focal length, auto white balance, matrix metering, 0 EV, custom tonal curve.)
