Damm snow needs to go away. I'm looking to get mine out of the farmer's barn soon. I need to:
Send the steering box in for "blueprinting" to remove the "slack that's bugged me for decades.
My 18 year old, 18,000 mile Goodyear GT+4's are going to get replaced with T/A's for safety reasons....they are still uncracked and look like new.
One rear trailing arm bearing is due for replacement ..why not, I did the other one 18 yrs ago.
Replace the dusty brake pads I been putting off for years.
1.5 months to go!

Man, you ain't kiddin'. I gotta get new sneakers for mine as well. Horns, wipers, tranny fluid, dash cover has to be reattached, center console, lube suspension and get 500 miles on it so I can retorque the heads. That's has got to be 2 maybe 3 days worth of work.

Dave C..........My mantra: I can not be bought!! Long and short term leases available.

Got it out Saturday morning. Sitting over the winter months filled with Bounce dryer sheets sure make it smell sweet....no mice! It was on the jack stands mid-morning for ceramic brake pads and to flush the brake fluid. It's already been 10 years since I did the sleeved/O ringed calipers. While changing the oil I noticed another power steering hose was leaking.....that one is "only" 11 years old. I guess if I sold my cars faster I would never have to do the same repair twice. I adjusted the steering box but need to drop a "glob" of grease inside it still.
Discount Tire called today, the new BFG T/A's were in. Do I really need to change perfectly good looking 18 year old tires with only 18,000 miles on them??? Too late, done deal....darn I loved the look of the original Goodyear GT's with the raised outline lettering. I need to paint the wheel weights flat black, wax'em up and put them back on when the weather goes above freezing again.

I dropped mine and it looks horrible. Need to get a new one although when am I gonna change a tire? I've got AAA
! I just need to get mine to the transmission shop. It doesn't want to shift into 3rd at all and will only shift into second if I make a long slow increase in speed. I'm hoping it's just the vacuum line to the modulator but if it's something more I'll be paying for a new tranny.

Last night on "Wheeler Dealers" they purchased a Porsche Boxer for $1,000 with a bum tranny that would not upshift in the automatic mode. They changed the oil and filter and it ran perfect!! I figure the oil must have been low in the trans.Good Luck$$$$$

Nothing better then the pressure of a road trip prep to force one to get the list of things to do .....done.
I've wanted to hook up an amp on the rear speakers for 20 yrs......done!
I was wanting to change out the left rear wheel bearing which is still original but the locals that will do it on the car are tied up or live an hour away and need the car for a few days. With travel schedules between my wife and I that's not gonna happen. I might crawl under it again and replace a few original U-joints.
What are you doing for prep?

My prep consits of washing last weekend and hopefully waxing next weekend. Oh, and packing! Looking forward to meeting you and others!
Most of my prep went into the car before going to the South Carolina gathering two years ago
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!
I've been spending a fair amount of time in the garage this spring doing little odds and ends on "The Toy" in anticipation of driving it to The Gathering. Then the other night my bride makes the statement that I better save some energy for prepping "The Beast" for the trip in May. The down side is that "The Beast" won't come out of the storage place for another couple of weeks so that will make for some hectic evenings getting it ready. The up side is I've gotten some things done on "The Toy" that I've been meaning to do for several years...!!!
