Topic: Rate the 2006 Gathering
in Forum: Annual C3VR Member Gathering
We rate it a 9.......only because I never rate anything perfect.
There is always room for growth, improvement or plain adjustments.
Adam-----a BIG KUDOS to you. That was a large job to take on and you did a fantastic job and especially when you didn't even live in the area.
Suggestion #1: maybe a sign-up list for volunteers to help with specific jobs. That might take away the burden of one or two people doing it all.
#2 Check with the Chamber of Commerce in the city we will be going to. They have lots of ideas and valuable resources i.e. hotels, restaurants, road trips, etc.
Great trip!!!! Great People!!!!! Corvette owners are awesome people.
P.S. My wife (Shari) works for AAA, she will help if you want.

I will have to give the overall an 8, if it were 1`0 we'd all be satisfied and not try to "outdo" this year with next year. I agree with the judging and all, but think that this is about the cars and not to be a compition - we're not looking to disapoint or to hurt anyones feelings after all we are all winners.
I thought the planning was pretty good and we had some free time to do some non-related activities. Life dealt us some lemons for the BBQ and most of us made lemonade. We had a great time under the porticol and got to know some people we probably would not have known if it didn't rain. The activities were all great, but still the most important part was the people. It was really cool that "Al and X" showed up. Thanks for the memories.
We were a little disorganized in the beginning, but I am sure with each gathering we will improve on that. I know one thing for sure - no matter where the next one is held - wife and I will be there. If I an't that the car, I will take a picture of it and display it on a table. We will be there and I hope that all the rest of you feel the same way. To all our new friends - hope to see you all again soon.

Overall we give it an 8....no need to repeat all the sugestions above - Dave had some great ideas.
One suggestion would be a consolidated agenda (and activity participants) a week before -- I got lost at the end with the various threads (wish I had more time) .
The Thursday night BBQ was great after the 15 hour drive - appreciate all of you who got there early and pulled it together.
We will definitely keep attending (but anything longer than a 10 hour drive will be done in 2 days -- unless its 11, what's one more hour to meet such great people)

Suggestion One: How about a "check=in" table, at least on day one? Would help keep a record better of who attended.
Suggestion Two: How about a "photo op" for each car and it's owners? Would help for putting together an event album (and for remembering names and who goes with what car for us "older folks").

I would have top say I rate it as an 8 (as I tend to rate things low..lol)
My thing is meeting people... the cars are secondary...I met a few
but never got to know anyone ... which I regret !
The Friday picnic may have lasted until 3 am if it did not rain...or should I say pour... Having the picnic in a park with a covered privilion would be great... Even with the rain...Picnic rated at 10+ (remember I rate low) PLUS I would have had a better chance to KNOW everyone... Can't blame anyone or anything about that we all have had it rain on our parade a few times... (come to think of it in Hershey it did rain on the parade...)
Meeting ... I actually liked the meeting...yea really I did... rather out of character for me but this one was good
I would suggest more Do Nothing and BS time...in a comfortable place
The Picnic definately would have "worked" for this as I said above..but those in attendance can understand the fact that 100 people packed under a 10x10 tent ain't comfortable.. plus some of the guys and gals just left to get something to eat because they could not approach the table..
Not going to open my mouth about Pops... old story if you have nothnig good to say don't say anything... ! 'nough said...
Major thing I want to say is I had a great time...and so did my non car loving wife...

I agree with all that has been said above and don't see much need in adding or attempting to detract from any of it.
Bottom line is that the members made the event memorable. That is why we still yet look back and smile at the pictures, laugh at the sayings, and enjoy the memories.
Until we meet again, Thank You All... Tux...

It was by far the best Corvette function we have ever attended and we are looking forward to the C3X bash in Bowling Green in October.....
Thanks to all who showed up and had a hand in it!
